Question about gay marriage

It's kind of stupid for me to ask, considering I've been hearing about it on fox news for the past couple of years and on every other news show, but gays are pushing to get married inside the church? Or just be considered on paper "Man and man, women and women?" A married couple.

Marriage is a legally binding contract with financial implications, they are looking for the ability to be recognized, in the eyes of the law and for financial purposes, as being "married."

All I really know is that those few years saddled me with a faith in the redemptive potential of the imagination which, however flat, stale and unprofitable the world seems to me now, I cannot for the life of me shake. -Erik Davis

Yeah, they want to be able to legally be married in a court of law. Im not particularly clear on anything "church" related, but isnt the main arguement that being gay is a sin? I dont think that the church would even entertain the thought of gay marriage.
.. it sad that there is such a divesion between the people based on who their in love with.
-------------------- No point in mentioning these bats, I thought. Poor bastard will see them soon enough "There's a uh, big machine in the sky, some kind of, I dunno, electric snake, coming straight at us." "Shoot it." "Not yet, I want to study its habits. "

sad indeed.. a society that does not tolerate love says a lot about its humanity.

I don't think the Episcopalian church would mind much.

There are churches that will marry gays. Many mainstream Protestant churches will.

the political activism that supports equal rights for gays is strictly legal - they seem not interested in what churches do - and rightly so.
rightwingers who do not support equal rights for gays are mo rons.

There's a church a few blocks away from my place that has a big rainbow banner that says "Civil Unions are a civil right". I think it's a Unitarian church. Needless to say, all of its members are going to hell.

Who cares about your personal beliefs. If the people want something, then it shall be done...
All kidding aside, I believe if anyone wants to do something that doesn't effect me or my children, then do it.
Fuck government.

you have to take a kind of broader view than that, would you stand up for my liberties if I were trying to take yours, people dont have the choice, our reps dont represent us, corporations and organizations decide.
