incubation clarification

My friends is tringing to grow some mushies, and this is the deal- he's a real newbie, altough he's done his research (using PF TEK) on the subject theres some things he cant figure out. WTF... right, anyway when the jars are incubating are you supposed to take off the tape thats covering the holes that you inoculated through?? another thing he cant figure out is why his were inoculated about 5 weeks ago and are only half colonized?? we thinks that wierd. he looks at them daily (impatietns) which provides some sun light (bad, huh) and doesn't have any incubation holder box recipracle thing to keep um warm so they stay about 69-72 (uht ohhhhh). this whole impatience things realy gettin to him so bout a week ago he took a halfly colonized jar and birthed it (evil? i dunno). he got the extra subsrt off it and watched it grow (literally) and now he's got some greenishbluish stuff in some places. but yesterday, he saw som hardish looing bumps growing through the mycillium, thay lack any color (Like red, should they be red)?. any replied adice help woould be appriciated alotly.
