peroxide dissolves cobweb on contact?

hey folks...long time lurker, first time poster. might i start by saying a HUGE thank you to all the conversation that has preceded me on this forum. searching the posts here has been a WEALTH of information for me. you people know your shite.
so anyhoo, i'm making my first run at this whole thing and have experienced what seems to be the usual anxiety over whether or not i have mycelium or cobweb mold in a few spots on my cake. most of it looks rhizomorphic, but some spots appeared not quite right. SO i thought i would spray in some peroxide JUST IN CASE, cuz i really want this to work out my first time (and all has been well so far).
my question is, if it really is cobweb, will it dissolve ON CONTACT? like, *noticeably*? cuz it didn't seem like anything really happened, so i just wanted to check to make sure.
also, do i need to leave the cover off of my jar to let the peroxide evaporate or will it be ok to leave the lid on tight? don't wanna upset my fuzzy little bunnies...
thanks so much folks...

yes, you will notice it immediately dissolve per se.
it will turn into this whiteish mush like wet cobweb when it is in large amounts.
hit it with the peroxide and you should see something if it is cobweb.

sweet...thanks so much man.
so can i put the lid back on the container tightly or do i need to leave it open to the air so the peroxide can evaporate? is the peroxide safe to be with the mycelium when the lid is shut tight?

if not totally colonized,
I personally would not open the jar. If it has mold, I would toss it out.
I only use peroxide to fight cobweb after it is out of the jar.

Does not sound like cobweb. especially since you saw no change when you hit it with peroxide. I would tighten the lids to prevent chances of real contam, I really don't think that the peroxide will harm the mycellium.

In my experience, the peroxide will slow down the growth of the mycelium considerably.
for like a day or two.
after which the mycelium seems to activate a survival mechanism and grow stronger to save itself.
I agree, peroxide should not hurt your mycelium, just stun it and wake it up a bit.
