PF Tek with hpoo water

Ok, to start off i would just like to say that i got this idea from Roadkills hpoo tek which i will soon be using for one of my other pf jars The main reason for me starting this experiment is because of the poor potency people have been yielding from their standard PF substrates so im gonna try spice things up a bit
So here we go. Two 1/2 pint glasses were filled up with my substrate which contained the hpoo water that i saved from previous pasturizing. Now since i lack a cooker at the mo, i had to turn to my trusty microwave for sterilization. The two glasses were covered with plastic film, sealed round with elastic bands and pierced to alow ventalation. They were both put in shallow water and nuked for 13 minutes on high. After they had slightly cooled i then covered the tops with 2 layers of clean foil and left to cool. And by god, they reaked!! Later on i'll inoculate with some of my golden teacher LC.

I think i may have a problem. I reckon there is too much water in my substrate since i used LC. Also when making up my substrate i did not drain off any excess water from the vermiculite which made it a bit lumpy after adding the BRF (thought microwave would have dried it out a bit). So now i have a small collection of water in teh bottom of my glasses. Im thinking of just starting again or should i leave it?

bah, i'll just leave them. I remember reading about someone who abused almost every rule in the tek and got away with it
I'll just let this post hang and i'll report back if anything comes of it

when making cakes, I find it always advisable to use poo water instead of regular water.
75% poo water + 25% fresh coffee = your water to add to the mix.
I hope it all works out in the end.

anno did it once, i remember the outcome not to be worth being repeated and colonisation times rather slow.

I believe the coffee is for better colonization times, the poo water for nute value.

I once tried using water left over from pasteurizing horse crap as a substitute for water in the PF tek. I found the results not worth the additional effort.

Not that I could notice, but I never really had an issue with PF potency. I did note a reduction in colonization time when substituting rye flour for BRF, but it wasn't a controlled experiment. Good luck in your efforts.

Well all of the excess water seems to have been absorbed and iv got mycelium growth in one of the two jars. May take a while though
