Cubensis look alike?

Hey there everyone! So I was out for a walk today and these interesting mushrooms caught my eye. They were found in woodchips on a hill under some trees... So I think it is safe to assume that it is mostly shady. The ground was quite moist as well. The mushroom itself is about 8 cm high, and the cap is 5 cm wide. The stem itself is about 1 cm wide. The cap is a very pale brown color to a tan sort of look and it is pretty flat, but slopes slightly downward from the top. The stem is very white, and is pretty solid, but lots of fiber sort of things.. Nonetheless, white and pretty dry all throughout the stem. The gills are very organized, thin, and straight. The gills also go up a bit as they connect to the stem at the center. The edge of the gills is a bit white too. The color of the gills is an interesting blackish, purple-ish, grayish color that leaves a distinctly purple/black spore print. THe smell is a very organic mushroom smell, not to different from other mushrooms that I have picked.
Now, something else that is interesting, is that there were a few other mushrooms that were in the same area. Unfortunately I did not check if they were still attached to stem, but the edges of the caps were turning a bit purple, almost looking blue... Alas maybe an active!? Nothing too promising, but it is the closest I have seen to blue bruising in my area, but I was thinking maybe the color of the gills was staining through (if this is even possible). I chose to name this post Cube look alikes because at first, these seemed to resemble some cubensis mushrooms, though i am going completely on pictures and descriptions from the internet... Another thing to note, is that there is no real bruising color at this point.
Anyway, there are some pictures attached, and thanks in advance everyone!

They are defiantly not active.. Id go out on a limb and say some sort of Russula but its only a guess... Plus the gills are a bit compact and dark for Russula... Sorry!

ah another inactive... thanks for the tip on Russula though, I'm researching them now to maybe pickup a lead. It's strange though, I don't really know what to look for in the northeast, since not all the states are located on the "What mushrooms grow in my state?" page. I've been trying to go by the stuff from New York, but as I do not live in New York and I don't really know what exact parts of New York they are referring to (temps and climate of Buffalo for example, or the climate southeast near the city and surrounding area)... Anyone else in the eastern US want to throw in some knowledge? Thanks again for the info Yessup!
