The weather cleared and I was able to get out late this afternoon. Still haven't hit up the state park yet, but I will do that soon enough.
Just a few finds. I'm not worried about ids, but if you want to throw them my way, I'll take em.

A variety of amanita, I believe.

These are tiny tiny mushrooms. Absolutely no idea.
  look like pigears.

Two little pins on a log.

Here's a flower.

I'm out of upload room, currently, otherwise I'd post more.

The second set are Russulas, not Amanitas. Very common in the early summer and fall. Most of them will make you ill. They are notoriously difficult to ID to species. Really can't tell what those tiny ones are. The pig's ears are indeed ear fungus of some sort, not polypores.
Nice finds, nice pics.

Cool, good to know. The only reason I thought those might be amanitas is because I've been finding dried caps (definitely amanita caps) around the same area where this was found. This did not have the spots though, which is aprt of why I was unsure. The little white ones threw me too. Some were maybe a few mm in length, and others maybe .5-.75" in length, and the gills were practically unnoticable. Never heard the term "ear fungus", but I'll look into it.
Thanks to both of you for your comments.

Check here: http://www.mushroomexpert.com/auricularia_auricula.html I was using ear fungus as a general term, yours could be one of a number of similarly shaped mushrooms.
The tiny white ones could be one of the teeny marasiums species.

They do have that Russula look to them.. A good way to tell them apart from Amanitas, is the flesh of a Russula will crumble and fall apart in bits and pieces. Especially if squeezed, hit, smashed, or otherwise beaten.
Russulas also don't share the same veil characteristics.

next time I see one, I'll be sure to sacrifice it for the greater good of my own personal knowledge.
Kind of odd you say that...as I was hunting earlier, I had a vivid memory as a child of smashing puffballs and other mushrooms in my backyard in AL. At that age, I didn't know they were as alive as I was. I felt bad.

hehehe, they do now!
um...I haven't been out to any pastures to look. I don't really care too much about finding actives, I mean, it'd be nice, but as long as I keep finding different species, I'm happy. I had thought about it though. I looked up where you told me you used to live here, and I'm not terribly far away, I'm not close, but not far away either.

I used to do the same thing. I would find these puff balls as a kid that I called "smoke bombs".
I used to throw them against the street and a big cloud of spores would fill the air.
