An interesting point - the spores on these bad boys are significantly smaller than Subaeruginoa - are they still definately just variants of the Sub complex? I take it this was established by compatibility testing?

Great pics inksi - I wouldnt expect any less.

I was waiting for these pics  :smirk: Some nice specimens there - nice, big and solid ones. I bet you felt like a kid in a candy store each time you found another one  (I know _I_ do).

The whole hunt took about three hours and yes they usually grow singularly or in pairs but if you look close enough you can sometimes see pins growing at the base of the stipe of the mature ones.

Hi feelers
These are definitely not a Psilocybe subaeruginosa varient and are supposedly closely related to or even the same as Ps zapotecorum from Mexico!!! they're very strong, more so than Ps subaeruginosa!
Sheepish, hahahaha thats a good way to describe the feeling when finding these, like your a kid again

nice pics - and the microscopic features are obviously classic aucklandii - although the ones i have nearly all ahev shorter necks with forked cystidia.
The question now is whether the ones you had previously were something new

interestng - the cystidia shape on those other ones was quite different to classic subaeruginosa. Maybe if you could post some pics of typical cystidia for subs in your area we could compare them.
Might explain where Guzman got Tasmaniana's forked cystidia from but its unclear. Spore size is within subaeruginosa's size.
