What a cool cop!

Was out with some buddies tonight, we hit a couple strip clubs and got plastered.. My buddy was half in the bag so considering I live just up the street from him, he went to his house and I walked home the rest of the way.
Before walking home though, I grabbed a beer off him and (yes, stupid I know) drank it as I walked home.
About half way to my house I saw a cop drive by me the opposite way and for some reason I knew he was going to pull around and get me for drinking a beer in public (illegal in Canada).
Just as my instincts told me, he pulled right up behind me. I was real cool and mature with him, I talked to him nicely and put the beer down. He was real cool as well, he asked me the last I had been arrested, if I had any drugs on me, and he checked my ID.
I told him the truth that my buddy dropped me off at his house, that we went to the rips, and I was just walking home with 1 beer. He said I appreciate your honesty and maturity, continue walking home and just put your beer under your shirt so noone see's it.
Is that cool or what? I thought I would get arrested, or a big lecture, but this cop was so cool it was unreal - I just had to come here and drop a line!

Good intentions= good outcome. Good people look out for good people. Walking with a beer. Instead of driving.
I bet you were stoned, and fit some profile, or looked sexy, to the cop. Did you hear his tires skid to turn around? How did you 'know' he would stop you. Did the same cop that drove by stop you, or was it his pal on the other line. Were you in a 'red district?'

You are correct, I was stoned, and a little bit hammered.
Im sure it was the same cop, I didnt hear his tires screech but I did hear him pull around semi-quietly.
Im a guy, and the cop was a guy, but you never know maybe I looked sexy to him - LOL!!
I had a feeling inside he would stop me, I was walking past a bar and i had a full Coors light in my hand I just somehow knew he had seen it I was pretty much the only guy on this street (except for the people on the bar patio and maybe an odd crackhead or two up the street).

It's been my experience that if you pass "the attitude test", a lot of cops can be surprisingly lenient. Of course, if you get caught with a kilo of heroin in the trunk or a body the outcome can be very different.
