King Crimson is a band, not a dude. My favorite King Crimson album at the moment is In the Wake of Poseidon.

King Crimson are one of the greatest bands ever imo, welcome aboard their albums are quite diverse but i'm sure there's nothing out there you wont like. some good starters (besides the ones already mentioned) would be

30th anniversary remake of In The Court Of The Crimson King on CD. Fantastic packaging, digitally remastered and with extras. The first and still the best and the remake only makes it better.
And check out Islands...

There are various flavors of Crimson. I started with the 80's stuff and it worked for me, they're one of my all time favorite bands. Beat is a good one to start with, the 80's stuff is pretty poppy but in a slick, virtuosic way. Beat or Discipline. The other 80's album, Three of a Perfect Pair is awesome but I hated it when i first bought it, now it's one of my faves. Some of the most experimental stuff they ever did is on that record. Red is a good starter for the 70's period. For the early stuff, I'd start with 'In The Court of the Crimson King' or In The Wake of Poseidon', both equally good. The most recent album "The Power to Believe' from '02 i think is awesome too. It has the great track Eyes Wide Open but that's not the actual name of the album. It's amazing that KC is still one of the best bands playing after all the lineup and style changes over the years. Really the ideal rock project if you ask me!

the construction of light is probably my favorite crimson song.
My favorite KC album is the live ConstruKCion (sp?). anyway, it is a 3 disc set and has the best version of Dinosaur and Into the Frying Pan.
Thrak is also an amazing album.

Yeah dude, that third eighties album contains some of the most ass kicking pop ever conceived. The title track alone is worth having the album for. It also has some of the weirdest stuff you've ever heard. And what's with all the Sleepless remixes? Oh well, the barbershop piece more than makes up for them!

I haven't heard anything past 3ofAPP except Power to Believe and a few tracks like Dinosaur. I've been meaning to get into the ConstruKCion stuff for a while. I'm currently seeking out Thrak. I can't imagine how they contain the power of Levin + another stick player and Bruford + another great drummer! (Not to mention the two dudes on six strings!!)
Glory, Glory, Glory!
Long live the Crimson King!

Robert Fripp is so underrated as a guitarist. Not only his Completely unique and awesome style, but his technique was good enough to perform in Joe Satriani's and Steve Vai's Guitar trios.
My Favorite albums Starless and bible black Larks tongue in aspic
O and does anyone think it would be the the coolest thing ever if he did an album with Les Claypool?

Well its always possible, When all three of them have diverse style and open minds. Theres a really cool band out there called Tortoise that pulls a sound somewhat similar to king crimson with two simutanious basses.
