the "non-voters" are by default voting for the winner...many of these might feel that theres no alternative to neoconservatism..but cannot bring themselves to actively vote for a fascist either...

It's their own fault if they don't vote. If they stopped feeling sorry for themselves and actually got off their ass, they could make sure neoconservatives didn't hold office.

I think it's a combination of "I-don't-give-a-damn-ism", apathy and a pervasive feeling that their vote won't count. I vote, and I think you should too, if you don't already do so.

In my opinion everyone should vote. But to say that if you didn't vote for any of nominees from the two party systems, and your to blame is wrong.

Well, no, I wasn't saying that. Vote for whomever strikes your fancy, be it one of the two main parties or whomever.

You can also look at the issue in another way.

For example, many people who use the phrase "America Haters" will reflexively throw anyone who criticizes a current right-wing administration into that camp. And I don't get the feeling that they research each individual to see if the critic is actually against America on virtually everything or just happens to find themselves opposed to someone else's cherished political world view.

"America Hater" seems to be mainly used defensively as a shield. And one normally employs a shield extensively when one's ass is being beaten very very badly. Small wonder the phrase is being trotted out these days.

I don't know about you, but when I am being beaten badly in something I tend to take a break. I study what is happening and make corrections. But here instead this administration and its supporters want to blame someone else. It is simply too painful to take responsibility for the beat down. It must be some other guy's fault.

Stubbornness is not strength, it is weakness.

And partisanship is a poor substitute for the facts.

I voted for him too, although I thought they should've run Gore again. But for what it's worth, even though Tennessee 'went red', Kerry won the county I lived in, so my vote counted as well. Ah well, we still have this November to look forward too.  Here's for another term for Bart Gordon!

Candidate's Political Philosophy
The below is a way of thinking about the candidate's political philosophy by dividing the candidate's VoteMatch answers into "personal" and "economic" questions.  It is only a theory - please take it with a grain of salt!

Personal Questions:  Liberals and libertarians agree in choosing the less-government answers, while conservatives and populists agree in choosing the more-restrictions answers.

Economic Questions:  Conservatives and libertarians agree in choosing the less-government answers, while liberals and populists agree in choosing the more-restrictions answers.

Candidate's Score

The candidate scored the following on the VoteMatch questions:

Personal Score 20%
Economic Score 40%

Where the Candidate Fits In

Where the candidate's Personal score meets the Economic score on the grid below is the candidate's political philosophy.  Based on the above score, the candidate is a Conservative-Leaning Authoritarian.

My emphasis

I, (Mr Tasticlies, please excuse because I am going to speak for you), think what he was babbling about is the almost reflexive reaction some people in this country have when ever America does something, these people are immediately are up in anger and very unsupportive. Its like we can't win. we are damned if we do and more dmaned if we don't. I have never once in my life seen any use the term America Haters, and its is sad our own people would so complain and gripe about all the fallacies or life in America, never for once considering the fact that our way of life allows all the freedoms in the world to do for the most part as they see fit, as long as it infringes on no one else's lives.

Yeah, I know, we aren't free. We aren't free to wonder aimlessly down the street selling and doin drugs, or whatever other bullshit the people will cry about not being free to do.

Well, I do all the drugs I want and as long as I aint being stupid about it I won't be punished.
I won't be pressed into a labor gang for being out past curfew, I don't have to work 100 hrs a week to live a rather enjoyable live.

It seems he is just tired of the America is the worst country in the world song and dance.

yeah< i guess it doesn't matter, most the people on this board live in fantasy where American policy really has very little impact o their lives. They just like bitchin cause the can.

Someone implied I was guilty of violating the complainers first amendmant rights. NO,iI in no way expressed any desire for them to be arrested and tried for treason, I simply espressed a heart felt repulsion and dissapointment in my fellow Americans. That is all, and like I said it was a rant.

Look at all the good things you've got. Whether it be a Blue House, or a Red House, we should not be a divided house. The time for division comes once every four years, and once again the days your local elections take place.

We are all together on this ship of fools.

Oh yeah, Nakor, don't ever presume to speak on my behalf again. I don't like you, and never have.

I am honestly embarassed of where my country is right now, but I don't hate it. I know it can be changed.

I hate the fact that we are moving more and more towards a wasteful welfare state.

I hate the fact that corruption is slowly becoming the norm.

I hate the fact that we are wasting absurd amounts of money overseas via military endeavors and foreign aid which yields poor returns to both us and the countries we give the aid to.

I hate that our population has become so apathetic about politics that a majority of them couldn't give a shit less about most of the major problems facing our country.

I hate the things that are wrong with our country, but I don't hate our country as a whole.

yeah, a welfare state is no good.

Corruption has been the norm for nearly every gov't since time immemorial.
Yeah I am not a fan of the foreign fund giving, or even for the most part the domestic ones, global welfare.
I am a fan however of the invasion button and its practical uses.

I have no problem with invading a country when we are attacked first or when there is indisputable evidence that we will be attacked. I do not, on the other hand, agree with the money spent for "humanitarian" or strategic wars. We would be better off spending that money to protect us from future attacks.

you have a prblem with invading for strategic reasons?

Why?

Maybe the best way to prevent future attacks is a pre-emptive attack of our own?

Most of what you say I have heard for my entire life. The exact same complaints. My parents and grandparents probably made the same ones as well. Exactly the same. Still and all, it hasn't turned out too poorly. Work in progress and room for improvement? Of course. Still and all, so far the greatest nation the world has ever seen.

Don't be so sad about the amount of people who don't vote. Out of 100 people 20 agree with you 20 disagree with you and 60 don't even understand the question. Now, if the electorate is suddenly flooded with idiots you don't really expect them to side with you, do you? I know I don't. They'll vote for whoever says they're going to get more money for less work, the deluded dipshits. Don't worry, be happy. It's actually pretty fucking good.
