First timer here trying to cultivate some mushrooms, I would have to say i did a fair amount of research on this subject and feel that i am very well prepared for it. I have already inoculated my substrate i am just waiting for the things to grow its on day 3 and i am not seeing any mycelium growth. maybe I'm just an impatient person, but I'm just freaking out cause i dont want to screw this up, the whole process seems very easy, from what ive read. Most of my research was on different sites until i stumbled upon the shroomery it opened up so much more information on the subject. I am using the GT strain because i hear they are fairly potent and easy to grow. I have the humidity and temperature (85 f) at just the right level or so i think its the right level as i have read on this site and some other sites. i am using a mycobag that i purchased online, and i have placed the mycobag inside a fish tank and i have placed 2 plastic black garbage bags over it with some slits cut in the top for air ventilation. i also have a space heater as my heat source, and to create humidity i periodically spray distilled water into the tank, i also have sponges at the bottom to "recycle" the water and so there is no standing water in the tank and i have all of this placed in a closet. Am i crazy or does anyone think this will actually work? like i said i am able to tell what temperature it is inside the tank because i just purchased a simple outdoor/indoor thermometer and it usually various from 80-85 f. ooo and i know about sterility i cleaned the hell out of that tank and those sponges with antibacterial soap and alcohol and sprayed the garbage bags down with alcohol. please let me know if anyone thinks im crazy or if this might actually work. like i said im a first timer so please no jokes just some insight. I bow to the almighty veterans of shroom growing!!!

how did you add moisture what was your technique?
listen it usually takes at LEAST 5 days for spores to germinate, if your already fucking with them after only 3 days its never going to work out for you

Just spray a little mist in the tank with a spray bottle

Dude, you don't want to mist in your incubator. You definately need to read some more on Shroomery. You probably didnt hurt anything yet, but it isn't doing any good. Just keep them at the current temp and don't worry about the humidity. Not while incubating. (unless you live in the middle of a desert)

if the space heater can be bad as it is dry air. usually the humidity that is in your room is fine, however some heat sources may bring your humidity way low wich will dry your substrate
here check out these links will be very helpful for you

do tons of research, it's fun.
