Saturday's Mushroom Photos

Took a nice drive with my hunting buddy today and we came across some nice specimens to photograph. This one I need ID help with.
Found in sandy soil with cow poop mixed in. Shaggy Cap and Stem as seen in the pic. Its got a veil as seen in the Pic. Its smell was about that of a Stink Bug! Freaking sweet looking monster!
Then here we have some Pan Somthinorother's. Lots of twisted stems and black spoor your guess is as good as mine!
Then we have a couple Puff's One Spinney and then some nice HUGE white Puffs!
 Then we have some Coprinus.
Then last but certainly not least the Cubensis No mushrooms were harmed in the filming of the day!
And a couple non mushroom related shots..
It was a nice day indeed.. But I feel tomorrow will be even better!

Nice pictures YESSUP.
Did the gill color on that scaly one stay white? The gills look different in the second pic. Did you pick that one for a spore print?

We picked it to get a better look at it and to get a cross section. The gills were a blush white.. We snapped a pic gave it a smell and left it behind. Sorry for the sketchy info!

Fan-Fucking-Tastic Yessup. Those scaly monsters are crazy looking. They look like pholiotas, but I don't know of any that grow on dung. Not super familiar with that genus though. A couple of those pans are awfully subbs-like. And your cubes look like they came from another planet. Unbelievable pics as always.

I dig the Coprinus. Seeing as that's about the only variety I seem to find here, I've developed a liking for them.

Great stuff.
That shaggy one has free gills (you can tell from the first photo). My first thought is an Amanita - there are some odd species in the genus that look somewhat like that.
Happy mushrooming!

Some fatty Texas Cubies, nice finds.
The one on the top reminds me of some Amanita praegravoelens I have found before here in Florida. Did the mushroom have a strong sickly smell to it?

do you happen to know what kind of mushroom this was or if it is active or poisonous?

i found a bunch of them growing in some mulch/wood chips behind my house. they have a brown spore print.

That is a Pan something or other! Its more than likely non active and I doubt its poisons...
BUT! This grows in Dung not wood or wood chips.. You did not find the same mushroom...

Wow!......very nice!
and speaking of copywrite you might actually want to seriously consider a couple of those....
Lookin at that little Pan in the thumb you got no clue whats about to happen until that thing opens up and bam !!! trippy watchin the drops single file down (or up ?) the stem and those 2 sun star reflections set it off.......could you see those in the veiw moniter first ?
O.K. Dave....I've cancelled the Geographic cover I had all set up of your BIG giant cow SPLAT.....this ones goin on it!!! (just kiddin Dave... )
Agree with Toxic and Great with Amanita on the other great find / pic.......also like the pic of it laying down in the rocks.....would never expect for it to be growing out of that......was showing someone those pics and was mentioned how much the shroom resembled the the pebbles in its habitat like it was tryin to camo right in......didnt work tho.....you found it !
Inski also found a related foul smelling Amanita in New Zealand few weeks back .........

http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat...=5532445&Words= inski&topic=&Search=true#Post5532445
there is a whole group of similiar bizzarro foul smelling Amanitas which are known for being able to occur in somewhat treeless habitats unusual for an Amanita: A. roseolescens A. foetidissima A. flavofloccosa A. manicata
all suspected of being quite poisonous ! I remembered this one from one of Taylor Lockwoods pics presentations few years ago...although it looks nothing like it he has it listed as Amanita mira A.....not sure what the A stands for... http://www.fungiphoto.com/CTLG/IMAGES/IM/0795-12.jpg
