New Field Guide
    #5704920 - 06/02/06 05:52 PM (17 years, 7 months ago)

Hey, has anyone seen this new field guide published by Falcon?  It's called North American Mushrooms: A Field Guide to Edible and Inedible Fungi by Dr. Orson Miller and Hope Miller.  Orson Miller is the head of the botany department and Virginia Tech, and a pretty prominent mycologist.  His wife evidently has published a few mushroom cookbooks.

I picked it up today for $26 at Border's, and I'm really happy with it.  It has tons of keys, great photos, and great info.  Heavily referenced with acknowledgements to lots of well known mycologists including Stamets.

Check it out if you get a chance (and no I don't work for the publishing company, I just really like the book!)

I haven't seen the new book yet, but I'll definitely check it out.

Dr. Miller actually isn't at Virginia Tech any more. He retired a few years ago and is not living in Idaho.

Happy mushrooming!
