Found these in a kow pasture in western kentucky, there are 3 different varieties... I believe the two larger ones in the middle may be Psilocybe caerulipes, but I'm not sure. The stems are about 1.5" in length and the caps are about 1" in diameter. I think that the one in the bottom left corner may be a younger Psilocybe caerulipes judging by the pictures I've seen. The three of them smell alike... very meaty earthy smell..the gills on these are an off white color. All of the others have stems ranging from 4 to 6 inches and were found growing out of Kow dung, stems are hollow on these and the gills are a medium brown. Hopefully the attatched pictures will help... I'm not sure how to do a spore print...

The small ones appear to be conocybes - potentially deadly. A cow pasture is not the right habitat for caerulipes, and those two mushrooms don't look anything like them. I'm not sure what they are, but if I had to guess I'd say a Laccaria. Some of these are edible, but I wouldn't chance it.
Nice pictures. Spore prints are super easy. Cut the cap off at the stem, and place gills down on a sheet of paper. Cover the cap with a glass, and let sit for 5 to 24 hours. Lift the cap and voila, you have a spore print. If you think the spores might be white, as they will with a laccaria, use black paper. If you are not sure, you could have half of the cap on black paper, and half on white.

Xmush got to it before me good advice all 'round. The delicate tan colour ones look identical to the conocybes i have found growing alongside Panaeolus species in grass.
The lone thick white-stemmed mushroom appears to ravaged for a proper ID, but the other two thick brown-stemmed mushrooms show the characteristic indentation in the center of the cap that is common of the genus Laccaria.
Nice finds! I would strongly suggest against any taste tests.

Didn't even see that third mushroom the first time i looked. It's so beaten up that it is really hard to tell. Tricholoma would be a possibility, but I'm not convinced.

Hi all, im new and enjoy mushrooms as a food source, a drug and i enjoy collecting them in general, even if they have no real use.
Cool, very nice big pics however as said above none of them appear active.
As for the conocybes then i would say the ones you picked are tenera or maybe pseudopilosella, although its hard to tell even with a decent pic. They certainly are not filaris the really nasty ones, but they are certainly inedible and worthless.
Oh yeah and the conocybes someone posted later, they are tricky, possibly rickenii but its very hard to tell

Shalambo, just out of curiosity, why not Conocybe lactea? With those near white caps and stems it seems the obvious choice. Also, the caps don't appear sulcate to me.
To be certain, I would never claim an accurate ID of any Conocybe without the specimen in hand and a microscope. There are too many very similar species.
Happy mushrooming!
