Salvia Quid Use

I'm posting this because last night I attempted to use a salvia quid. I found it to be beyond unpleasantly bitter, to the point at which I almost vomited. I could only hold it in my mouth for 5 minutes or so. any tips? - ( These are dried leaves. )
P.S. - I was thinking about boiling water and adding sugar to it, then chilling it and allowing the leaves to rehydrate in the sugar water?
Any help or ideas are greatly appreciated.

i think you are supposed to rehydrate dry leaves lol. try to rehydrate a good bit and put it into another quid and suck on it for about 15-20 minutes, not swallowing. let the juices absorb in your mouth.

Yes you rehydrate the leaves. Let set in a glass of water 5-10 minutes. Wad up and chew occasionaly. Try not to swallow to often and don't spit. You must keep it in your mouth for at least half hour-45minutes. Swim tells me some people have a hard time, if at all getting effects from salvia quid. Others swear by it. Apparently last longer than smoking. You must chew some, you cannot let it just sit in your cheek.

Just smoke the darn things in a nice glass pipe
-------------------- "I experimented with marijuana a time or two, and I didn't like it. I didn't inhale, and never tried it again." Bill Clinton "A smoker would theoretically have to consume nearly fifteen hundred pounds of marijuana within about 15 minutes to induce a lethal response... In strict medical terms, marijuana is far safer than many of the foods we commonly consume. For example, eating ten raw potatoes can result in a toxic response. By comparison, it is physically impossible to eat enough marijuana to induce death." DEA Administrative Law Judge Francis L. I have done it a few times with success. I didn't rehydrate them, but let my saliva do that. I used 10 leaves for a strong experience. Although I've heard of people using less, I can't quite smoke straight leaf and get the desired effects. As far as taste, I say suck it up or toke up.
Smoking some extract is the way to go if your new and impatient like me. The subtle effects the straight leaf and quid method provide require the user to surrender to the experience. Even the extract requires some surrendering, but not nearly as much.
