Very nice.
Side note: how did you get digital images of your paintings? Whenever I try to take a picture and put it on my computer, the picture of my painting never turns out looking good and there is always some glare.

Digital cameras are a bitch because they try to make them idiot-proof. The best thing to do is to spend a lot of money and get a digital SLR that has full manual controls (like a focus ring), and shoot indoors on a tripod with two professional lights. However, if you're using a cheap, worthless piece of crap, like me, then I would suggest turning off the flash and taking the paintings out doors and shoot them in the shade on a sunny day.
In the old days of film, I used to have two professional halogen lights on either side of the painting with polarizing film, and then shoot long exposure on a tripod with tungsten-balanced ektachrome and a plorarizing filter. That kind of setup will eliminate almost any glare or reflection no matter whether under glass or varnished with high-gloss.
Sadly, I don't have that equipment any more, and my digital camera is a cheap piece of crap. I keep promising myself that I'll buy a decent camera some day...
Speaking of black-and-white. It's amazing how "polarizing" black-and-white can be...

hey paps!
been quite busy, actually ... got a new job doing digital color separation for an entertainment apparel company ... it's a ton of work and intensely detail-oriented -- but most of all, it's a pretty 'frickin rad job, if I do say so myself ...
your work is indispensable ... every time i take a look your art has gotten even more excellent ... stupendicularoso, even!
keep on keeping on ... or you'll be unkept!

Some of these are fascinating,
they make me realize just how much I've been neglecting my painting for the past month ...

HB,
Glad to hear you gots da rippin' job!
I'm watching "Lust for Life" right now -- the film about Vincent Van Gogh, based on the Irving Stone novel -- and Kirk Douglas just shot himself...
Speaking of old movies: "Night of the Iguana" is going to be on TCM this monday at 7:00pm. Cool Beans!
Morrowind,
I know what you mean. I was out of town for a week, and I've been having to write some programming this past week, and all I really want to do is get back into the studio and paint. Oh, well... I'll just keep my nose to the grindstone and eventually I'll be liberated to do what I really want to do again...
I've got six paintings in the works right now, and I really, really, want to get back to work on them... All things in time, I guess...
It's all about patience...
