Lets' say you had 1 pound of substrate and had access to any mushroom species, which would most likely yield the greatest number of relativley equal doses? (cubensis, pan cyans, azurescens, Ps.Cyanescens, etc.)

There is no comparaison possible between all these species in terms of dose. Azurescens and cubensis cannot be grown unde the same conditions. You'll need less azure shrooms to trip, but you'll have to wait longer with more difficult teks (and a garden !).
If I have understood your question, you want to have a maximum of doses with the less efforts/material as possible. Stick to cubes, case them, and you'll have many "doses" quite easily.
I would add that a "dose" is not a good word for shrooms as you have different trips depending of the quantity.

And I don't understand why you ask this question. You have quite a lot of experience on this forum, and you should know that 1 pound of substrate is not enough to compare yields.
