My favorite band is breaking up

Tool is #2. NOVA is number 1 and they announced that they are breaking up. I was so upset over it yesterday, that I ended up giving myself a migraine. I don't know if my emotions became overactive, but I think I was truly upset because of everything that band has done for me. They've given me hope and they opened my heart to understanding.
They have one last show in July in California and my mother has graciously decided to pay my way to California to see them one last time. She's so awesome and she understands how much these guys mean to me.
She's not the only one either, these guys are letting me in for free and the band manager has offered to buy my drinks. Which was very nice of him. I'll be in Cali July 1rst.
I just had to let this out. I come here for everything and this has made me feel down. Not only that, but I heard the news the same day I got back my MRI test results, which you can find here: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/5695823/an/0/page/0 if at all interested.
I need a place and someone to talk to. The shroomery is my home. No flaming please, I've already gone through enough shit. I could use words of encouragment though.
Love you all.

All of my favorite bands broke up before I was old enough to have even heard of them.
One of the guys from The Who died about the same time I started appreciating music.
The Stones still play, but the price for tickets will bend you over, rape you in the ass, and sell you into prostitution.

that seems true of any ticket nowadays. CD prices are just plain ridiculous too.

I feel ya!~
I've been there over the years...
favorite bands breaking up...deaths in Bands...rebirths...etc.
When CCR broke up that was one of my first heartaches in music.
Then when Slack Sabbath kicked Ozzy to the curb... But he came back stronger than ever!~
I remember when Bon Scott from AC/DC died...I was devistated!~ Then Brian Johnson joined the band and they made the "Back in Black" album. I never got over Bon Scott's death...but BJ was a great choice as a replacement.
I grew up with Layne Staley from Alice in Chains... when Layne died part of me died with him. Layne and I were childhood friends...he live 2 blocks down the street from me. I'm not sure that I'll ever be the same again...as far as bands go. I watched them from the ground up in a small rented space... then watched them become the power house grunge band that they became. Sometimes when I listen to AIC...their music makes me break down and cry. Because of what Layne could have done in his life in the future!~ His death was such a complete waste!~
much to ya Des!~

Roadkill, Alice in Chains is one of my favorite bands......I felt awful when Lane died.....I cannot imagine if he was a true friend.....that guy had a serious drug problem, what a shame,.....one of the best vocalists in my era.......

I still remember the day they found Kurt Cobain dead from self-inflicting wound to the head. From there on out, music took a turn for the worse.
