Weight Loss

I decided about a month ago that I was a fat ass and needed to loose some weight. I have lost about 20 lbs. Well I am still not satisfied. I want to go down to 220. Any ideas on how to make this shit kick into overdrive??
This is pretty much my daily food intake and exercise regiment
Breakfast 1/4-1/2 cup of oatmeal 1 mile bike ride (stationary bike)
Lunch 1 can of tuna or salmon 1 tsp. mayo (low fat) a little bit of pickle relish No exercise after lunch as I usually leave for work. If I have the salmon from a can then I do not mix mayo and relish in.
Dinner Usually nothing to eat as I am not hungry. If I do get a little hungry I pop a bag of no fat, no butter pop corn and eat 1/4 to 1/2 of the bag. 1 mile run/walk 50 jumping jacks 25 sit ups
So anyone have any other ideas?

Yeah. The more weight you have to loose to meet your "norm" for your body type and all that other shit the faster it comes off in the first month or two then it sorta plateaus. Or atleast thats what my physcian told me. He also told me that after that it is unhealthy to loose more than 2-3 lbs a week but I do not care I want to get my weight down then I will worry about being healthier. I just need to get down to 222-220 lbs. It is imperative.

You already have kicked it into high gear. 20 lbs in a month is a lot. Quite possibly an unhealthy lot (judging by your average daily food intake, expecially). If you persist in aiming to drop it at such a high rate, make sure you're taking a good multivitamin, we don't want you dropping dead because you ain't getting potassium or some shit.
But really, slow and steady wins the race. My dad used to be pretty overweight, but he's been 1/4 to 1/2 a pound a week for quite a while, and is now more trim than I ever remember him being, despite still eating out several times a week. Crash dieting usually ends up in starting to gain weight back within several weeks of reaching your targer weight.

I also beleive stopping the soda is key. About 10 years ago i went on a diet like that except for breakfast iwould have 1 bowl of cereal, maybe another bowl for lunch (cheerios i think it was...) and for dinner id have a sandwich with some lunchmeat and a piece of low fat cheese w/ wheat bread. I went from 230lbs to about 130lbs in about 3 months (im 5'10") which i still weigh now (which people say is way way too skinny, most likely because of doing coke and heroin alot over these past 10 years).

Just keep going. It looks like you're doing fine. The first weight loss is mostly loss of water caused by the body switching to burning fat. (which takes a lot of water)
As long as you're burning body fat you are on the right track.
There is some great information in The Hacker's Diet (and it's free too!)

That's the most unhealthy diet that I've heard of. If you want long term results and a healthy diet, check out something like Men's Health Abs Diet. You eat 6 times a day, but you eat foods that promote a higher metabolism, burn fat, and build muscle. I'd suggest that you put some weight lifting into your plan. As you build muscle you will begin to burn more calories. Check out: http://www.menshealth.com/cda/article.do...010cfe793cd____
Don't let the guys with he 6 packs intimidate you into not going into the gym. It's not about them, it's about you,

sorry to rain on your parade but your diet sounds like its unhealthy that isnt going to be sustainable in the long run. starving your body will make you lose weight but it will slow your metabolism and make your long term goals harder to reach.
add in more fruit, vegatables, nuts, fiber, more meals, and even unhealthy foods that you love in smaller portions (half a cup of ice cream rather than a bowl). there is a big difference between losing weight and being healthy.

Ride a bike! It's a great way to get in shape. I've only been riding for about 1 and a half weeks and I ALREADY see my buttocks and thighs getting firmer!

That sounds like a pretty good regimine. Drink tons of water and fruit helps alot, too. Way to go, buddy! Keep it up. I need to do the same thing. I am a lazy fuck and it makes me feel bad alot.

Good advice. I typed too fast and didn't think enough. He is sorta depleting his body and in he long run, will not help things out.

yeah that is far too few calories. Where are your fruits and vegetables and you are eating far too few proteins as well. You may lose "weight" but your losing just as much muscle as fat with that diet and losing muscle is a bad thing. The more muscle you lose the lower you basal metabolism will be. The more muscle you have the more fat you will burn not just exercising but standing still and sleeping as well.
Try to get your caloric intake around 1500-1700 thats about as low as you want to go for a guy. Oatmeal in the morning is the perfect breakfast but try adding a piece of fruit to that. Your lunch is alright but try adding some vegetables to it remember "eat from the rainbow" add different color fruits and vegetables to your diet that will make sure you get all the vitamins minerals and phyto-chemicals you need in your diet.
For dinner try making a simple stir-fry with good veggies a low-fat protein like chicken and fish and maybe a cup of whole grain brown rice.
Just keep up with you exercise and tweak your diet a little bit and you will be healthier and happier than you have ever been in your life.
Good Luck
