Alaska is the cake for a pioneer of nature and wilderness. Fishing king salmon from the icy rivers, panning for gold, growing lots of good weed, and last but not least: Home of the Badlands. I was reading an article on the burn lands, and how there are football sized morels, bursting forth everywhere. Alaska is a dream

Not to mention these active mushrooms grow in Alaska: Psilocybe cyanescens Panaeolus ater Panaeolus subbalteatus

See you in the state parks

Try a search posts. I have seen finds posted from over there before. Also see rules, you aren't supposed to make posts asking what grows in your area.

alaska is a great state, which i lived in for almost 8 years. it is not the best place to find psilocybes, though Panaeolus subbalteatus is probabnly distributed into the interior. any occurrance of active psilocybes is probably limited entirely to southeast. i know P. cyanescens has been found there and have heard of P. baeocystis last year. there are a few other possible candidates, like P. pelliculosa but even so, the rule will still be that what actives are there will be quite rare.
i'm planning to return to southeast verry soon. hope to run into a shroomerite or two.

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it. If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.
