it cant keep it any cooler than the temps outside the car, in most cases about 10 degrees higher

I'd be worried that you have to leave the window slightly open, though. If there's room enough for a scrawny arm to fit through the window, then it makes it much easier to reach in and unlock the door.

and if the insurance company can prove that you left the car vulnerable, you would get jack shit from them in a theft claim.

There was a TV program called "The American Inventor", maybe it's still on. Anyways, a young kid came up with this same product for keeping your dog cool in the car. He used tupperware type containers and duct tape, but the idea was the same! He lost. Judges said no one would buy it. I don't think his was solar powered tho. :confused:

I found out how easy it was yesterday i locked my keys in the car at the gas station.There was a old windshield wiper laying around stripped to the wire poped the lock i was back in my car in less than 5 min.

The one 1 inch space this fan might leave is meaningless

all you need to get into a convienience store or stores in a strip mall is a screw driver or a pair of vice grips, alarms are all you'd need to worry about.
