There's a Slight Crack on my Cake, Is it Okay?

Hi, first post and first grow. I bought a myco-jar to give growing a try, injected the spores a couple days ago, and yesterday I noticed there's a seperation in my vermiculite, here's a photo I took of it:

note: This crack does not split the cake in half, nor does it even reach the middle. I'd say this crack only goes about a quarter's length to the middle.
My question is... does this cake have a future? Should I open the jar and smooth it out? Right now I'm just leaving it alone, but since I'm not sure what to do, I'll ask here.
Thanks.

i wouldn't mess with it - if its a sterile environment a crack isnt going to cause problems...
eventually the mycellum will grow into and 'seal' the crack...
what are your plans with the cake?
spawn to substrate or fruit??

Thanks, yeah it's pretty sterile.
I'm planning on growing them straight off the substrate, I really don't trust myself yet to case them. If all goes well on this grow, I plan making a cheesy little fruiting chamber for a couple cakes.

Trepedation is nesc when learning something new, however, here is a good casing tek:

Stick w/ the cakes as long as you are comfortable, but casing IS optimal, and i feel obligated to direct you to that link. Good luck with your grow! And oh yea, dont worry about the crack. hehe, itll be fine.

Let the mycelium colonized the crack and then the inside of the cake.
I had a couple of jars that looked just like that.
