So I've decide to shorten my previous post in hopes of getting a reply or two.
1) can I use old cakes (ie cakes that have already gone through several flused) to start a casing
2) can I case in my fruting chamber (which I used for the PF TEK) or should I just use a bunch of small cases and then put them in the chamber
Thanks
-Asmodean
also any general tips on constucting a automated fruting chamber or which strain of cubensis to grow would be great too! I'm a first time grower so anything helps!

You shouldnt use your spent cakes to start a casing. (Hence the term Spent - Thank you RoadKill)
You should (should) have no problems casing in your existing FC provided you have the appropriate space and humidity levels.
For your spent cakes - try the outdoor tek. (Or give them to a buddy so they can outdoor them) -Me

I saw something similar in the advanced forum. If you want to experiment - cut the outside off of the whole cake, dunk the inside in 5-10% peroxide and distilled water, then do a G2G or small casing. I'm gonna try it.

Spawn it to poo for best results. There's no guarantee of success, but it's better than tossing it in the trash. You could just break up the cakes, dig a hole about 4-6" deep, plant cakes, cover with poo, straw, compost, etc., and water it every few days. Put it in a mostly shady spot. GL.

The dunking idea sounds pretty good. But perhaps I didn't make myself entirely clear. I am not talking about using completely spent cakes, but cakes that have already gone through their first couple of flushes but show evidence of preparing them self for another (not so full) flush. Does this change anything? I mean if they are still pinning (I know enough to no put the pins in my casing) wouldn't they still be viable when exposed to more nutrients?
