trouble with AA930

I'm trying to use my new PC for the first time. The lid and bottom rim look blemish free. I wiped bottom rim down with vasoline. I secured the lid, and tightened the bolts to the point I have to put some effort in it to get them to turn further. This was done by tightning opposing bolts. It looks even all the way around.
But the lid leaks steam in one place. I was hopeing it would stabilize as the pressure went up, but it started to billow just before 15 PSI.
The vasoline was pretty thin, but the directions seem to indicate it should be. Is this common with first time use? Did I do something wrong?
Help...

Tighten the bolts on the pressure gauge until the plasticy wax seal is begining to squish.
Is the seam between the lid and pot leaking steam?

New ones will do that a few times, until the lid/rim gets seated. It will work itself out. AA's are the very best PC made.

Right. They last forever, but there is a break-in period. Don't overtighten the nuts. After this batch, tighten the lid down and take it off again a dozen or so times and I doubt it will leak next time. It also helps to put a bit of vaseline on the threads of the wing nuts too. RR

Thanks man. My old PC only did 4 quart jars, so there's lots of enjoyment with the AA Plus it's all big and shiny!
I lubed up the screws, and tightened them down a couple times. It's got a good seal now.

Never add any break in time with any of my AA's either. With the arrow lined up with the line and everything tightened evenly once heated and cooled it shouyld be good to go. Glad to hear everythings sealing well now bro.
