PC - Stovetop vs. Electric

I am thinking of investing in a PC here shortly because I am looking to move up to grains and bigger jars. PCs are relative inexpensive nowdays, and I even ran across a couple of electric PCs. My question is - would an electric PC be worth the extra $$$ that you are going to spend on it? The benefits would be that you dont have to be near a stove to sterilize with your PC. (And if you happen to have someone who has a broken stove...) Has anyone used the electric PCs? and with what success rates? Thanks -Me

It seems an electric PC would work fine as long as it can run at 15 psi cosistently.

They're great, just more expensive. Use it on a kitchen counter, because the outlets there are dedicated circuits that don't run anywhere else in the house. An added benefit is the o'lady doesn't get pissed when it's time to fix dinner and your PC is on the stove and she's under orders not to go anywhere near your stuff... RR

I have a eletric 6qt PCer and it did a good job and I still use it. Now i have an AA PCer and use a single burner eletric burner (no stove in the house don't ask) and that works better b/c it is cheap and easy, take that into concideration

I would purchase an All American 921 or larger stove-top model. Less to go wrong & will last generations.
Some of the inexpensive electrics, don't stand up very well long term.
