output 7.5v dc 250mA

depends what the rating on the comp fan is. 7.5 output sounds a little low to be honest with ya.

Aim for a transformer with an output of 10 to 12 vlts. 12 volts is ideal. 7.5 is too low, it will still spin but not very fast.

I found that 12 VDC spun the fan too quickly. You're looking for a small dimple, not Dorothy and her little dog, too.

I've found 9 VDC works PERFECTLY for a fan rated at 12 VDC. Of course you could always get fancy, use a 12 VDC transformer and add a potentiometer for speed control.

But again, I threw on a 9 VDC and it works like a champ.

you can also raise your platform that the LC sits on to help slow down the spinning. I have mine with washers, so I can raise or lower it to control the spinning.

Agreed. Someone (can't remember who) mentioned that he put index cards under his LC to adjust the rotation.

Cheap, extremely fine control and simple. Just how I like it.
