one of the things I've learned posting on this board

You can't change the rules of logic

you can only change yourself to be more logical.

Too bad I'm a fuckin' madman!

but hey, at least I'm getting better

I can only be what the whole of humanity wants me to be.  Unless of course, I end my physical incarnation.

Only then will I truly be myself.

Come on Doc, Be reasonable here. Nobody is making you be or do anything you don't choose. When you're a little kid and they are programming you, that is true to an extent, but you're not a little kid and can think for yourself. Charle Manson said almost the same thing. He was a brilliant man in some ways but he didn't know how to take responsibility for himself. He indulged in being weak.

Just a few suggestions, based on your posts:

Quit writing so cryptically. It's not cute, and most of us have no idea what the hell you're talking about.

Try to refrain from calling people dense or close-minded because they don't see things from your point of view. You're not very good at getting your point of view across in the first place.

If you're going to bring up Jesus, try and refer to some of the texts written about him, rather than using him as your mouthpiece.

And Icelander brings up a good point. You seem to avoid responsibility and blame others for your problems. Try and take responsibility for yourself once in a while.

I think you've got a good heart, but your mind needs some serious work.

I agree.

That is 1) not true, and 2) an easy out. Leaving society opens up infinite possibilities. Be what you want.

One of the things that I've learned from posting on and observing this board is that, if the title of the thread refers to the forum itself, then it probably doesn't actually belong in this forum.

Not sure if that observation pertains to this particular thread, as I'm not able to read the first post of the thread...

My mind has already had some serious damage done to it by the demons of this world. I'm trying to undo their work.

Unfortunatly I do not post on this forum as much as I would like to, so I haven't really learned much as a direct result of posting..

But I feel that the most appreciative lesson I have learned from discussing philosophy and spirituality is that there is never one correct way of experiencing truth. There are always multiple approaches. What seems right in one person's eyes may never agree with the opinion of another. However both may be observing the same thing with the only difference being the location from which they are looking at.

What this means is that an open mind is always and i mean ALWAYS necessary when discussing philosophy or any other opinion based subject for that matter. Confusion and conflict only arise when a closed mind repels a point of view and thus hinders the flow of communication. Philosophy is a team-sport, acceptance and cooperation is a must.

I couldn't find a response which was appropriate and got the meaning across without it being a flame.

To this dear sir, I say: Ignore.

ignore is for pussies who can't handle someone else's point of view

I'm not too fond of a whole buncha people here,

but I don't have anyone on ignore

I don't like to give up on people

I'm always hopeful that they may redeem themselves

I unignored you to read...I knew it'd be good.

OK, I have no problem with other people's views. I do however have a problem when someone offers you their valuable and valid advice/ideas and you shove them off by asking a question with an aire of attitude and then acting with an aire of being better than someone. You, sir, are no better nor worse than anyone else.

Why does it matter that I have someone on ignore and you don't? Why does this make me a pussy? I'm not giving up on you or anyone else, for that matter..."there you go again putting words in my mouth"...in fact, you never responded to a pm I sent you last night.

meh.

I'm saved

I'm just waiting for God to call me home

and helping others find him within themselves

in the meantime.

but truly, all I really want

is to go home

just like everything else...
rules exist inorder to define the game

everybody has a place until the music starts
round and round we go, where it stops nobody knows

if you believe that you can play the game..

the game doesn't exist to define the rules
