Very interesting video.
What I've learned is that there is more compatibility between religions than I thought before. It actually kind of speaks as an argument for the validity of those religions.
If you have thousands wierd beliefs, well some of them must be false or all, but if you have thousands of same versions of one belief, then there is greater chance that it may be true.
the first part of the video is typical atheist predictable reasoning through cartoon logic, but the second part was very interesting, there is much I didn't know about egyptians and other religions.

Im only half way through the movie but i must say this is the most interesting i think Ive ever seen. I'm wondering if anyone knows for sure when the Mayan calendar ends..... I think that would be a cool day to lose ego.... Ive herd that is when our sun eclipses the galactic center.... Just thought that would be a cool day to party is all
-------------------- "Centuries ago, sailors on long voyages used to leave a pair of pigs on every deserted island. Or ... a pair of goats. Either way, on any future visit, the island would be a source of meat. These islands, they were pristine. These were home to breeds of birds with no natural predators. Breeds of birds that lived nowhere else on earth. The plants there, without enemies they evolved without thorns or poisons. Without predators and enemies, these islands, they were paradise. The sailors, the next time they visited these islands, the only things still there would be herds of goats or pigs. Does this remind you of anything? Maybe the ol' Adam and Eve story? You ever wonder when God's coming back with a lot of barbecue sauce?" Chuck Palahniuk

this is a good video but his claims that he wants us to make our own decisions are laughable.
the very nature of this kind of media denotes passive listening, the absorption of other's ideas without criticism.

or perhaps thats your natural reaction to this kind of media. Your observations have less to do with the objective (media) and more to do with the subjective (your perception of the media).

i dunno.
you have people telling you things and then you go about adopting it.
it just so happens these things are based in research and are educational, instead of misinformation ....
but really the only avenue for critical thinking comes if you go out and research every single thing they said, otherwise this would need to be in a classroom lecture type environment where you can question, criticize, get feedback and provide feedback, so that your mind is actively engaged in a learning process.
this is more of an absorption process. i did find it very interesting though, all the astrology ties..... rather uncanny.
i say it's not learning or thinking because you cannot interact with them. for example i could make many bold and flagrant assertions in a post but you have the opportunity to refute them and therefore I have no power and no authority (unless I start my own website perhaps)
however like it or not, they have authority and complete power, and video media is completely passive.... where does criticial thinking come from? it's absorption of their ideas..... and it may make you think quite a bit but...
I don't know, do you get what I mean?

I must say, I might be mis-assuming, but the way you say "ending" ..
It seems as if you see the Mayan calender, as something going from A to B to C ..
And I must say, the Mayan calender, is a wheel, A round stone.

I would even go as far as to say; Something as easy as this, is the "base logic"
Maybe: the Mayan calendar ends, where it starts over? ..
(Much like our current Gregorian, one?!)
