This book, I think is very helpful in understanding this concept. I read it when I was a small child.
In a perfect world, nothing ever happens. Why would it need to? Everything is already perfect!
perfection is a state of needing or desiring nothing. And thats pretty much what you get when you're perfect: nothing!
Aren't you glad you're not perfect? Don't you like having sex and eating chocolate sundaes? I might not enjoy these activities as much as many do, but I certainly do appreciate their existence! Everyone likes a good sundae once in a while
The point of reality is that we are all students. Why anyone would want to know everything is beyond me. Personally, I like to be pleasantly surprised
the great thing about infinity is that it has no end. People end, but infinity never does. And thats why people keep coming back to infinity. When they leave they get wiser and when they come back, they are renewed. thus, life and wisdom go hand and hand through death's door. And they come out on the other side reborn.
Sometimes, nothing is the way, but of course it is not the only one. Be thankful there are many ways, for there are many people, and not everything works for every individual.
remember:
"Long and short exhibit eachother. High and low set measure to eachother voice and sound harmonize eachother Back and front follow eachother."
So, respect your opposites. Respect the game. Learn to appreciate diversity. For no one way is THE way. The true way is no way and all ways, the way between ways which cannot be defined the same way twice.
of course, having said all this, if you are a being who is wise enough to need or desire nothing, more power to you, brother! But don't forget to come back into the sandbox and play with us sometime

nothingness and everything would then be the same. perfection is uniformity.

Quote:
soulcircus said: didn't buddha say that its not nothing, but its not something
He was saying that the nature of mind is beyond the extremes of existence, non-existence, both or neither.
