Salvia Divinorum - quality/salvinorin-A content?

iamshaman.com has 1 oz. of Sierra Mazateca salvia leaves. $10.
sagewisdom.org has 1 oz. of Sierra Mazateca salvia leaves. $125.
What's the deal here? Huge quality difference? Or rip-off?
I bought from IAmShaman, I intend to either chew or make a tea, not smoke. Am I getting ripped off with bad quality?
Or would I have got ripped off with overpriced salvia if I bought from sagewisdom.org?
Just curious.
Thanks.

I think Siebert may be profiteering from the recent media attention the plant has received.
But, he also does great research with salvinorin, so if you want to make a contribution to that research and get some really good quality leaf, I'm sure he's got good stuff.

But over a HUNDRED dollars more for the same weight and same kind. I bought the 9.99 one from iamshaman.com, so what, is it not going to work, or will it be weak, or will I have a bad trip, or will I trip but also get really sick, what?
I'm just really paranoid I guess because 9.99 and 125.00 is a huge difference. Huge.

I agree thats rather odd. you wouldn't think evan the best qualty and worst quality leaves of the same type wouldn't evan differ in price that much

Perhaps the "cheap" leaf is still half as good.
Mr. Siebert should make clearer that he sells his product at an inflated price to fund his research. There is nothing wrong with it, in fact theres much to say for it, but he should make this clearer than he does.

Basically it's a donation you make to Salvia research, and you get some prime quality Salvia leaf as a gift in return.

That is a good way to phrase it.

Well... these are regular, natural leaves. Not boosted with x2 or x5 or x10 extract.
Oh and I was not talking down about Daniel Siebert... I actually have a lot of respect for him and have read a lot of stuff and think he's doing a good thing.
I figure, even if it is overpriced, I wouldn't call HIM a rip-off, I'm sure he has his reason.
My main thought is... if the IAmShaman salvia is 9.99... maybe it has little to no salvinorin-A? I'm paranoid. I already sent my money.

I have smoked a lot of salvia...
Personally, I've ordered both extracts and regular dried Oaxacan leaf (as well as many more items) from both iamshaman and shamanic-extracts and IMO they're of the same quality.
Extracts are better because you don't need to smoke as much to get the effects, and they often taste better. However, I'm very experienced at using the regular leaf as well so I settle for quick consumption of an entire bowl. Currently I've got a QP sitting in my closet, when that's gone I'm ordering a kilo.
But, my experiences only have to do with smoking it.
