call the Social Security Office and tell them someone is using your SSN that you're a victim of identity theft, see what your tax dollars pay for you may be suprised at the response they give

yeah on that etc..i was watching a commercial on bank of america and they supposedly pay for any losses that you would get if someone stole your credit card. now that got me thinking, and i wouldnt do this myself, but what if someone was to pull an inside job and let someone 'borrow' your cc and then get paid all in the same time because someone 'stole' it.

Someone stole 5,000 dollars worth electronics on my dads card. They fully rembursed him within 1 buisness day. At first they thought I did it untill I pointed out that the charges were from NY, and Cali

i know a guy who, many years back, when ATMs were just becoming more common, gave his card and PIN to somebody he knew, who then withdrew $2500 or whatever the limit was. he reported his card stolen, and the bank reimbursed him. probably wouldn't still work today, as the systems are all more common and standardized, but anyhow, he got a good $5000 out of it

I highly doubt the withdraw limit was 2500 unless he hit multiple ATM's

i'm not sure how they did it, exactly. i know that it was an aquantaince of a friend that he did the scam with, so when he was brought into the bank and shown the video of the man taking out the money, he could honestly say "i don't know who that is, that must be who has my card!"
most atms i've used have like a grand limit, and i've found there is sometimes a daily limit that carries over (ie, withdraw 500 from atm1, 500 from atm2, and then atm3 will say "you have reached the daily limit"). i think they did this before all those standard systems between banks were in place, though.
