$8.75 for beer? Field of Scams: If You Sell It, They Will Buy

Isn't baseball supposed to be the working man's sport? I mean, those are its roots right. I'm curious - how much do food and drinks go for at your ballpark that you visit most frequently? I'm just wondering if the NY prices are extra-inflated because it's NYC or if this is a baseball pandemic. You can't find a single edible thing (well, except maybe for Twizzlers) less than $4.50 at Yankee Stadium (or Shea for that matter, I'm fairly sure), and beer prices are fucking outrageous.
It's unfortunate, cause the food and drinks are part and parcel of the game experience, and people still buy them. I do.

$6.00 for draft at the concessions and 5.75 for a bottle at your seat.
The food is about 3.50 - 5.00.

You know those Heineken mini-kegs?
They carry em around the seats for $9 a pop.

What?
If he means those little hand grenades, those are the same size as regular cans.

its $6.75 for a 16 oz beer at turner field, hot dogs are around 4 bucks i think. thats why i carry a flask. i do always have at least one beer at the game, but if im with a crowd and we're getting drunk, i bring the flask to save money after that one beer.
i managed to get some crown into xmen 3 over the weekend, too!

I'm gonna trip at a baseball game this season for sure, and I just wish there was a safe way to smoke. Soooo not worth the risk though.

7-9 dollars for beers here.
Which is ridiculous, because I can literally SEE the brewery from the ballpark, AND, the ballpark is NAMED AFTER THE BREWERY!
Give us a fucking break already? So I too sneak liquor in. I'd much rather bring a water bottle full of soco and pay 3 bucks for a coke than pay 9.50 for a tub of beer. Scandalous.
But I have the problem w/ smoking too. I always get blazed in the parking lot, but that wears off by the 4th inning. And its super hard to smoke in the stadium, even the shitty sections have a few security folks in them.

I've never tried one of these:

Wonder if that'd work on a not-too-busy day in the upper deck.

I've gotten away with it before at Brewers games, but nobody really cares about the Brewers and the stadium is huge, so theres lots of empty sections. But I imagine in NYC it'd be hard, 'cause I'm sure they fill up the stadium every night.

Those are pretty cool but ya gotta keep em real clean. The only smoke that escapes is that which is exhaled so it'd probably work.

I find a younger guy that is at the beer counter and slip him a $50 then double fist all day long. The last guy's name was eathan. So any of you homers that go to tigers games look for black dude named eathan and offer him the deal. He will take it. I bet we drank $150 bucks worth of beer at comerica the last time we went.

there's one spot in turner field i would risk actually smoking a blunt. it's all the way up at the top, next to the edge. theres usually not security anywhere near that section, and you can see if someone's coming 5 minutes before they'd ever get to you. all i would do is throw my blunt over the edge if i saw someone on their way up there. i think the most they would do is kick me out, but hey, there's only one way to find out, right?

I was actually looking for a spot to smoke at turner field the last time I went to a bravo's game. I decided that I would wait till after the game and I am glad I did. I had a storm grate jump out and bite my tire in the ATL and take a chunk out of the rim. I needed the smoke after that. We were standing right there smoking a joint with cops rolling by and they never even looked our way.
Is your spot in the top left of the skyline seats at turner field?

I was at the Stadium Saturday. Forget smoking. You can't even smoke a cigarette before they're on you like storm troopers. As to the beer, you gotta just say "NO" to bud light. I found a Bud Select stand where they were selling 24 OZ for $9. Not great but my asshole didn't bleed so bad.

its about 7 bux here for a regular beer and 11 for a tall boy. keep in mind these are canadian funds, but with our dollar climbing up against the US, its not much diffrent any more. seriously shitty prices
We went to opening night and it cost me more then twice as much for 2 beers and a dog then it did for the ticket.
Its a shame its so expensive, like OMR says its part of the experience. i cant go to a ball game and not have a beer or a dog.. its just natural, but when its coming to the point that i need to save up a few bux to go, just cuz the beer is so overpriced, thats a lil shady IMO.
Its like strip clubs, you pay X amount for the beer and Y amount cuz your being entertained while you drink it. Its just a shame Y is getting to be a bit too big of a number.

I agree, if you want decent seats at a ball game, and you are on low income, you can't enjoy the casualness of a few beers at that price.

$6 for a beer, $5 for a good hotdog. Coors Field. This was last year's prices...havne't gone to a game yet this year, and probably won't, now that I'm in school.
