I really can't understand what an audio engineer engineers...

do they just design sound systems for particular locations?
(educated about acoustic energy, interference, etc?)
do they actually do amplifier design?
(fundamental electronics?)

or is it just a new fangled type of technition with a stretched title?

(like a sales engineer)

I'm an electrical engineer myself, still in school... fourth year of a five year program.

I just graduated high school with a 3.9 GPA, scored a 32 on my ACT (local equivalent of SAT, 36 is best possible score), and will be starting at a decent university this fall with a Chemistry major. Not trying to brag, just helping prove GSxx83's point.

You don't have much to brag about there... it's high school... there's essentially no correlation between highschool and university marks...

I graduated highschool with a 67% and my university GPA was 4.15 (90%-95%) since day one.

I know too many vice versa's to count.

If you want to show you're intelligent, brag about something intelligent you did, not the number the government babysitter put on your classification paper...

for example... perhaps you are capable of graduate level chemistry due to peripheral (drug site) reading... or maybe you can backflip a bmx... or maybe you know 8 programming languages...

heh, it's funny because I posted this reply to give you a heads up about the huge change coming in your life... but really I just seem like I'm trying to put you down.

I'm a one man IT department for a 50 agent real estate office. Maintain printers and servers(mail and web), update websites, help people with photoshop-type tasks, install new office tech like flat screens in the lobby, you name it. Most of my time gets spent helping agents do really stupid crap like open email attachments, but I always have plenty of time for surfing sites like shroomery.org!

I also do a lot of work with Traditional Chinese Medicine(herbs mostly), and I dabble in electronic music production.

I...

I am in Highschool, still, and go to the college.

That's right, bitches, I'm in Highschool.

I slack-off too much, but when not slacking, I am most definitely informing people about drugs.

My favorite people to inform are professional people in their 40s who like to drink and have this inculcated idea about drugs; they're generally bad.

Not to sound arrogant or anything, but within my local community's societal structure, especially at the teenage level, I'm known for being a strong proponent of psychedelics, and for being, basically, the drug-information guru.

I do a fair amount of psychedelics, I eat Psilocybin mushrooms when they pop up in SWIM's little cool-whip containers, and make no efforts to conceal my love and admiration of LSD.

I love to incorporate scientific terminology into my statements, even when the statements are directed at individuals whom I am certain will not understand that said scientific terminology.

I consider a lot of my 'ranting and raving' to be "practice," because unfortunately not many people really do understand what I'm talking about, something which can probably be attributed to the age group I commonly converse with. --At least I'm getting practice for when I "have" to discuss new advancements at some convention.

I am always willing to discuss (typically proceeds into a debate) my drug use, and I have crazy theories surrounding my drug use... which I will not hesitate to break into with lengthy detail. (The possibility that we are biologically programmed to seek out alternative forms of experiencing 'reality,' and consciousness..., and how, basically, taking drugs is just a more direct form of 'neurochemical modulation,' which is the action(s) which produce -ALL- feelings. Whether this said modulation be achieved through excersize and nostalgia within a sport such as Baseball, or achieved by a more direct means such as psychoactive compound-consumption.)

Once again, not trying to sound arrogant, but I am arguably one of the most intelligent kids within my immediate region.

I've become accustomed to the "blank-faced countenance" that usually occurs after some "smart-kid" subtly asserts his intellectual prowess as he refers to the predisposition that I, being a profuse drug user, must be less intelligent than he...

Sorry, let me cut away that wondrous barrier of self-restraint which contains my bullshit ego from exuding forth copious amounts of self-absorbed praise...

If you measure intelligence by the criteria of one's ability to 'receive, interpret and project' data, I have yet to find anyone my age who is as "intelligent" as I am, even as I wade through the hoarde of anti-drug nerdy types.

Well, actually there isn't a "hoarde" of them, perhaps they can be better catagorized as seperate, yet collective little groups of the socially inept.

So, basically, even though I may perpetuate the theory that drug users and lazy and lethargic characters, I certainly do not contribute to the "theory" that drug users are stupid.

-Other than being a High school student, once I have beaten back the slackeritis, I would like to pursue my interests in Neuroscience and genetics--hopefully become a leading expert in the field of 'Neurogenetics,' in addition to being a bad-ass in Neuroscience and Genetics/biological engineering.

I guess it doesn't matter that this entire text was a shitty self-proclaimation of brilliance, because the size of this said text should initially drive the reader away!

Herbus:
You're smart, no doubt. But don't get caught up in "being the best". Most people on top are foolish yes-men, and you will not get to the top without being that way. Most of our most brilliant minds in history were outcasts and criminals, like Socrates for example. Maybe history is going in a new direction, humanity definitely is. All I'm saying is don't let your ego hold you back. Love and generosity will make your life valuable, not competition and winning. Try to help people, even if it means letting them think you are stupid.

Oh, and I work maintenance at a big fancy building downtown for the summer, ha.

I will be a "Software Development Engineer" in July.

But having said that, mushroom usage is an accepted part of the society in which I am to be living (the Netherlands), so there shall be no issues.  Hell, the guys at the company already know I use mushrooms.

I am a student at business school, and work at the Wealth Management offices of an investment bank in the summer... somewhat of a junior analyst, ew.

I only wish, however, that I could live the Cheech and Chong lifestyle

I'm still a student, but.

- just finished 3rd year of Univ with a 3.88GPA

Previous jobs have included

- Contract developer for a school board and helped develop software that did the timetabling for the entire school board, and a number of other spiffy apps (did that in grade 10 actually)

- Worked as a Web Developer, and have created things ranging from Content Management Systems, hotel/reservation booking systems, online contests/surveys, and helped create training software (that a friend of mine used when he got a job at the place I made it for, neat!)

- Worked as a Jr. Developer at a major publication in my area, projects ranged from research and development of an enterprise wide portal system, migrating from an Oracle database system to a MS SQL, QA and Unit testing, etc.

Now, I'm currently working with the city in their telecommunications department. Once I get settled in more, will be moving onto some reporting projects, looking at consolidating a number of systems, automating a few processes, etc.

With the exception of 1 job in grade 7, and one job in high school - every job I've had has been pretty 'career' oriented, my resume is starting to look rather impressive and my skill set is pretty good.

I have a partner that I live with who is a graphic designer, I get along well with my parents - we are very close, and I have a number of interests beyond drugs and psychedelics.
