Slow Growth?

Hi! I'm doing this "Hawaiian" strain for the first time, and Wednesday saw the first pins. Today, Tuesday, the longest mushies are only about 30 mm long. It seems to me that the last strain I did, (B+), once I saw pins, the mushies would be full grown within 48 hours - y'know, they popped up like mushrooms Should I be worried here? If so, what steps might I take? We're at: 80° F, 85 to 88% RH, and mucho FAE provided by the Cool Mist 24/7, Grow light 12 hrs. on/off PF cakes DECed on the jar lids. Occasional misting of verm casings. Also, this may or may not be related, but I have huge knots growing out of the sides of some cakes. Some are approx. 20 mm x 30 mm wide x 6 mm deep! What's up wit that?

well from what i understand your pinning from cakes correct? if this is the case 85-88% Rh is way to low those are casing Rh's you need to be at 99%. also did you dunk the cakes? the cakes lose alot of moisture during the colonizing period and rehydrating those cakes are very beneficial if not necessary

I hate to disagree but i really dont think his conditions are right and think he is have moisture problems, DEFINITELY in the air and also possibly in the substrate if he didn't dunk

Stamets recommends 85 to 92% RH at 74 to 78° F during cropping, so humidity-wise, I'm right in the middle. Also, in the past, I've had better results with DEC than dunking. That said, does anyone think I should try adding more water to the casing?

I agree you need 99% RH for effective pinning. With casings it may be dropped to stament's numbers after pinning is initiated.

That's true. On the other hand, I'm not sure whether to believe my hygrometer, anyway. I mean, the thing is covered in condensation, just like everything else in that chamber. I think the hygrometer gets water-logged and stops working. If I'm running a Coolmist 24/7, and everything's dripping wet, how low can the RH be? <— not rhetorical question - really, how low can it be? Also, does anyone know of a hygrometer that's accurate above 90% RH? Thanks for your help!
