I am new to mushroom hunting and would like to learn the ideal times, places, etc. for finding hallucinogenic mushrooms. Things to consider:
- Time of Day - Weather patterns - Location - Type of soil and plant life
Thanks.

Because theres a big list of species there - you probably want to look for Panaeolus subbalteatus and Psilocybe caerulipes. It seems people are finding lots of Caerulipes but its my understanding that they are considered rare finds - I think someone said they'd been looking for 5 years and had never found any. This year seems to have had a lot of finds though.
Panaeolus subbalteatus would probably be your best. Note I dont live in America - so I dont really know, I'm just geussing based on what I've heard.

It's been very warm and humid out the past few days. I think I'm going to start searching for caerulipes because there's plenty of beech, birch and maple forests in my area.
