microwave starilization

I've read that microwaving your cakes can sterilize them so that pc'ing is unnessesary. Im sure this has been posted a many a times but i can't find anything saying what type of substrate it works for. brf, birdseed, poop, straw? Im rather poor at the moment but have a micromove. Also if this doesn't work whats a good way to ask the parents you whant to borrow there pressure cooker, what the hell do you use a pressure cooker for other than sterilizing cakes any way.
