ok, everything is ready i think. I got washed through sand mixed in with regular potting soil. Now, basically I put the seeds on top, spread out, and then put the thinnest of layers of sand over them, right? And then i mist it.
right?

We recently talked about this in another thread.
I'd certainly leave the bag on for more than a few days. More like a month... unless you have some other method of keeping humdity.
But, someone wiser than I commented that he leaves it in humidity for 3 months. So, that might be a good idea.

Ok, so, I think I fucked up somewhere along the way.
It seems as though only one san pedro has actually germinated... There were so many seeds, how could only one germinate?! And its sooo tiny, Im not even sure it is what I think it is, but I think it is that. Which is good I guess.
And it seems as though some kinda vines are sprouting... Why the fuck do I have vines sprouting...? Is it something that mighta been in the soil? Did the provider send me the wrong seeds... Doubt full I guess, they were black and small and looked like san pedro seeds. So why do I have vines??
And why have none of the other san pedro seeds germinated?
Im starting to think I have a black thumb...

did you not sterilze the soil? the heat should kill any seed in the medium. maybe you didnt rinse your sand good enough? also its possible your seeds just were old or damaged in shipping but i dont think this is the case.

maybe spray some water on the surface. i do this after half my seeds germinate and the other half follows a few days after the spray. do cacti seeds need light to germinate? i didnt know the were photosensitive? maybe the heat from the light helps but i dont see light being needed just to germinate.

I just keep it sprayed at the proper levels the whole time, and use just a bit of diffused sunglight that comes in through the window. Far from direct, and it's going through plastic too. Don't know if it does much, maybe just enough to let it have some clue as to day/night cycles?
Just keep waiting. Pedro seeds can take a while.
You also might've been sold very old seeds? Vines? You probably didn't sterilize your soil, which could have other consequences that might've hurt germination rates. What kind of temps are they at?
Don't know how long it has been for you. About 2 weeks if you didn't delay long from that last post of yours. Could take longer than 2 weeks. Some of mine sure did. Only the first were popping up around the 12th day. (very old seeds as well. I had them for 2 years... who knows how long the previous owner did).
Keep at it. Mist (if you haven't been... that'll do it.) and make sure the heat is fine, and in the future sterilize your soil.
