Can psychadelics be beneficial in its smallest doses in our every day lives?
    #5685189 - 05/29/06 12:00 AM (17 years, 8 months ago)

Im asking this because I hear people use low doses of psilocybe mushrooms to relieve cluster headaches caused by car accidents and such. In my experience, I have taken barely noticable doses of mushrooms, and found myself very acute in conversation, and a better ability to do math. Barely noticable doses of 2c-e seem to make me more dextrous in my finger tips, also seems to enhance my concentration. (kicking peoples ass in CS, I game I barely play often) Is there a way to use any of these sort of drugs to a certain benefit without the goal being to get high?

It depends on your definition of beneficial. =) Like you say, you can still function and maybe even more capably than while sober (with a low dose).

Just consider that if any drug deserves to be respected, it is psychedelics. You cannot do them willy nilly because your tolerance will go up and it will mess with your brain's chemical processes.

no they won't help you if taken every day. soon, your body would adjust to them, and while on them, that would be your norm.

it's like people addicted to weed. they have no sense of equalibrium. they start feeling down during their day until they smoke, and when they smoke, they are back at ground zero which is where they used to be without smoking weed. i assume he same would happen with psychs, if you didn't build up an extreme tolerance after a while anyways.

not a good idea dude.

what you are after is mindfulness. this is a short term ticket to mindfulness and a long term ticket to complete and total tolerance.

it's like saying man caffeine helps me pay attention.... maybe i should use it every day. so you do.

then after a while it just doesn't do much for you anymore.

you want to use psychedelics in tiny doses once in a blue moon to be more "present" ? Well maybe....... that's the same principle of having a tiny dose of weed to make things more interesting in a social setting, or caffeine, or even one beer.

but ultimately I think psychedelics are for psychedelic voyaging. So I would either use them to trip and do it once in a while... or I would use them as an enhancer in low doses, once in a while. Not more than once a week.

Honestly it sounds pointless..... taking up meditation or some sort of body activity such as yoga or tai chi will do that for you, and the benefits will last..... taking psychedelics to do that for you will create imbalances like they mentioned because your brains default state now involves one more chemical in it than it is already used to having.

Plus you have to worry about breaking the law a lot.

in my opinion the answer is no.

i had experimented with taking small daily doses of shrooms for awhile.
no effect.

i also experimented with taking medium doses daily, like an eight or so.
that's kinda just like having a tobacco habit or booze or pot, no great special effect.

it's my opinion that a person needs massive doses, and often, to gain any sort of meaningful symbiosis with the mushrooms, or LSD, or anything.

moderation is for pussies, lol.

i've met people who say moderation is important, but it's just their way of making themselves feel good about their lack of commitment.

or perhaps my excess is a way of me making myself feel good about my overindulgence?

i tend to agree with myself rather than what other people want me to think or feel.
lol

no dude what they mean about moderatoin is to not too it too much or habitually.

in that sense maybe a massive dose of shrooms, but only a few times a year.

or once a month.

So from first hand experience 1 person recomends it and everyone else, we cant really tell if they have tried it or not. What you guys said about ur body getting used to it makes sense though.

Morning glory seeds are an incredibly cheap way one could accomplish this
if tolerance raises, up the dose, its affordable.

That sounds idiotic though, even to me. On the otherhand i drink endless amounts of green tea daily, without any negative side effects that i notice....
How about some more first hand experiences with daily dosage? Whose tried this? Howed it go? If you havent tried it i for one deff would still like to hear your opinion anyway

psylogically your brain cant handle large doses every day, and im sure that small doses every day would be the same situation over time...

"in times of widespread chaos and confusion, it has been the duty of more advanced human beings - artists, scientists, clowns, and philosophers - to create order. In such times as ours however, when there is too much order, too much m management, too much programming and control, it becomes the duty of superior men and women and women to fling their favorite monkey wrenches into the machinery. To relieve the repression of the human spirit, they must sow doubt and disruption"

The only thing I see happening is building up rapid tolerance.
