I know its not uncommon for the edges to turn brown, but it seems like it's spreadingthrough the whole leaf. I plucked off a couple aphids about a week and a half ago and sprayed it with soapy water, no bugs since, but this has me puzzled, fungus maybe? Help, this is my first year growing salvia.

NOOOOO!, any way I can save it, I repotted it if that will help, it has been overwatered lately, but the roots seemed fine, maybe cut off the affected tissue?

No just treat her right the way she wants/needs to be treated. She doesn't want to be dug up and planted again and again. She just wants a nice pot and some sun and some fertilizer.

It needs a humid enviroment. Make a small greenhouse and cover the plant. They need humidity
Read this, you'll see why we all scream about humidity: http://www.erowid.org/plants/salvia/salvia_cultivation1.shtml

it could be too little humidity... it could be you watered it too much.... it could be your water ph.... or it could be N burn
you decide
start putting peroxide in your water if your one of those people that overwater stuff all the time... it will help balance out your mistakes.
