Ok i have never really heard of people having a bad trip on salvia, just an intense experience. So please tell me if you guys have had a terrible experience on salvia, and also, share a few experiences with me because i am thinking about trying it.
I did salvia leaves 7 months ago and all i felt was a sinking, drunk feeling for 3 mins.
And i am going to get 10 or 20x.

ive only done pure leaves. And well they worked, for anywhere between 5-15 mins.
the experience hits you FAST. almost always i end up just thinking about things...then in my mind i picture them...not hallucenations...just imagining....but i can never control what im imagining.
its definitly worth tring you have nothing to lose as long as your not looking to get "fucked up". do it responibly. and do it alone or with one sitter.
ive always done it alone and have had zero problems...and i feel on pure leaf that its impossible to even break threw with other people around.
but i have one word of advice, you don't need extracts man...think your rushing it...if anything get the 10x.
see when you do saliva you have to do it like 2 or 3 days in a row(inhaleing right) before you break threw...in other words..you have a tollerence to it and have to over come that before you can break threw...

well me and my friend both tried some 6x nonstandardized a couple months back and there was nothing pleasant about it. we had pounded through a gram using a bong very quickly.
after exhaling a hit i felt an incredible pressure on theighs, forearms and in the front of my face.. like gravity had been multiplied by 5. also, i felt like my eyes were being pulled forward and in. i felt hot and extremely uncomfortable. i needed space so i started to pace around and try to put myself back together. my friend said he had some light visuals.
if anything saliva gave me an appriciation for just how good it feels to be normal.

i think part of it has to do with people taking them extracts...you gotta work your way up, and also keep working at it..you stop for a month or what not and you rback at square one.
its like with weed, i get paranoid as hell at first..but over time it gets better.

The only time I had a bad experience was when I mixed with LSD. Bad idea.

the only thing bad that has ever happened to me was that I got hit so hard that I dropped my lighter and spilled the hot ash on my hand. Sometimes it just hits you so hard that you forget how to be concious and that is with un enhanced leaves...

I can definitely relate to that, as just one of the things I take away from it. That's actually part of the reason that it has remained unscheduled in the US (or most of the states anyway), is because it has an anti-addictive quality.
I've never had what I would call a "pleasant" experience with salvia, and most people I've spoken to or read about say pretty much the same thing. In fact, I acquired about a gram of some quality extract about 6 months ago, and I've only used it about 5 or 6 times since (about 100 mg per dose). I usually feel panic and confusion at first, and then I settle in, and the new world feels almost euphoric once I start to understand where I am/why I'm there. Each time it's like getting into a cold pool that you will adjust to, and unfortunately with salvia you have no choice but to jump in. There's no gradual ascension, even when you already know what to expect from previous experiences (maybe it's different with leaves?).
So, original poster, if you're apprehensive enough about trying salvia to make a thread like this, I'd suggest you start out with 5x extract from a reliable source, instead of 10x or 20x. If you look to classify it as either a "good" or "bad trip", you'll probably be disappointed, so try to just accept it as it is.

if you are not familiar with your stash. the liklihood of UD or OD is very very high. fortunately it is nonpoinsonous - no physical damage can ensue, but this (lack of caution) along with variance in smoking styles and between persons succeptibility has lead to many many experiences being way to strong and unpleasant.
with UD, you feel not too much or even upset that you have bothered. with OD, you have temporal dropouts and huge physical discomforts, and sensory confusion. during a dropout, there is no telling where you may run deleriously (or not).
so to explore salvia, you do it with a deliberate care and consistency. you find your optimal dose for the stash and for smoking piece that you have familiarized yourself with, and through that care, a decent outcome can be expected every time.
this is very different from casual drug use.
because of that, and the common experiences of epiphany (and deja vu) some people try to get overly "spritual" about it; but realistically, superstition is not nearly as helpful as knowing your own stash and managing your dose.
familiarity is the best grounds for the interpenetration of nature and spirit.

the only bad experiences arise when you try to fight it. this is usually in the form of walking around or leaving the room just to prove to yourself you can.
if you avoid that, and just go with the flow as they say.. nothing bad should happen. strange, yes.

cant say it was a bad trip but it was very scary... we are in my buddies back yard and I'm leaning on a wall. i take 2 hits and within a minute my whole reality changes. i felt like i was part of the wall and couldn't get out, felt like my body morphed into the wall! at the time i totally forgot i smoked salvia... my friends told me that i had the biggest fear in my face and all i could do was whimper the word help a few times... i then lay on the steps, i looked down and my body was in the shape of the steps! it took around 20 minuted for me to come back to reality. it was definitely the craziest uncontrollable hallucination, probably because i had no memory of smoking at that moment... i look back at it being one of the funniest experiences of my life! next time i wanna morph into a tree!

it's not so much that the trip is bad it's just that the intensity is overwhelmingly confusing.
its such a strange and BLUNT feeling...... no discretion or grace in particular just "hello here I am"
deep breathing, meditation, and relaxation are essential prior to an experience, and you should lie down and close your eyes if you want to do it.

Om Namah Shivaya, I tell you What!
