question about casing and incubating

I've read the FAQ, but i still have a simple question about casing/incubating to double check. When incubating a jar (i plan on using rye seed and water, simply to break it up into little chunks during incubation.) it says after the mycelium is fully colonized, break it into chunks and then apply it to the container and wait 3-5 days. Is this simply just re-incubating it? what will it look like? And after the 3-5 days, do i simply just put the cased container into a proper/normal terrerium? -thanks

Uh I'm really high so we'll see if I just inderstood what I read- I believe you're on the dot, just maybe put a dry layer over the 're-incubating' case.
Damn this california dro is quite the shit.

You want to soak your rye for 16-24 hours (depending on the quality of rye seed you get you'll notice a suggnificant change in the color in wich you might want to drain it 6 hours into the soak and fill with fresh water.
after that, simmer in a big pot of boiling water 15-30 minutes or until you see a couple kernels opening up, then its time to strain them in a pasta strainer or something similare.
let it drain for really good so theres no run off when bounced around in the strainer, then pack your jars up, invert the lids and put eletrical tape over the inoculation point in the lid then take some heavy duty tinfoil and tighten it around the cap......PC at 10psi for a hour and a half or 15 psi for a hour....or longer to be safe.
once its done, let them cool to room tempature and then remove the foil, wipe down the jar lids with a peroxcide soaked cotton swab, flame sterilize your needle tip and swab with alcohol to cool, peel back the eletrical tape and inoculate your grains with about 2cc's put the tape back on and foil then incubate at 28C
within a week you should see signs of germnation..
To answer your question, you let the mycellium recover in your casing tray for 3-5 days at room tempature or if your going to be spawning your rye to straw+hpoo/manure or some bulk substrate you might consider incubating your casing if you have a extra heater, but room tempature is fine for it to colonize your substrate, then apply your casing layer and place in your fruiting chamber.
Hope this answers your question.
