Bud and passionflower...some questions

Hi ya everyone.
I recently bought some passionflower to take before I smoke...from what I understand it prolongs and intensifies the high (MAOI action). I'm wondering how much to take, when to take it (relative to smoking), and if there are any dietary restrictions (I know some MAOIs when mixed with certain food can cause a hypertensive crisis).
Thanks for all the helps guys,
-CL

I have some passionflower tabs, on the back of the box it says:
Caution: Do not use if you are allergic to any of the tablet's ingredients Do not use if you are taking anti-depressant medication As with all medicines, if you are pregnant and breast-feeding consult your doctor before use This product contains lactose. If you have an intolerance to some sugars please consult your doctor before use As Natracalm is intended to help you relax, if you feel drowsy while taking the tablets do not drive or operate machinery Do not drink alcohol while taking Natracalm If you already take a sedative, take care as there may be a possible increase in its sedative effects when taken in combination with Natracalm.
Ive taken them and smoked before, it does add a little something to it. Passionflower is relaxing by itself though i think. Makes you feel awful in the morning if you have to get up !
The box mentions nothing about anything food wise, so i guessing its quite safe at normal doses.

Mine say " Extract of passiflora incarnata 7:1 (71.4mg) equivalent to 500mg "
So i'd say 500mg is an average dose, these tabs can be taken 3 times a day then another one before bedtime if needed.
They last awhile. You should feel one working 30-45 mins after you've taken it, its only very mild though.
Hope that helps abit
I know the leaves can be smoked to produce mild sedative effects. I don't know anything about mixing them in with weed though, might not be that healthy. Something i might look into actually thinking about it now, hmmm.

Cool combo. Very relaxing. Passionflower is a safe sedative. I use it all the time. Don't worry about MAOI interaction as it only contains trace amounts. Harmine is a very safe MAOI anyway. Try it!

Leaky poo? I also never had that happen with Passionflower. I've taken it for 7 years now. Passionflower increases intestinal motility but does not decrease it like with opiates. It is however a known diuretic. And I have noticed that it makes my pee smell like when you eat asparagus. Salvia has this same effect on my urine. It is a slight yet noticeable effect. I'd like to see where you found that information. Link?
