Hello, Total noob here on his first grow attempt using a myco-bag.
It was a slow starter and i nearly gave it up thinking i had bought a dodgy syringe, but then after 2 weeks i got a first sign of something growing. That first sign has turned into this ( im not even 100% this looks right )

Then after a day or two i noticed something else happening around the other side of the bag. At first it looked just like how the other bit started, now im not so sure.
It looks like its a slightly different colour in its top half, its less dense and has a slight grey hue to it. Im worried because the other side seems to be growing differently ! See what you think anyway ?

It might be ok i honestly don't have a clue, strange how its growing with a bit that looks quite healthy. I dunno ! Any help would be great ?

Looks fine. The growth isn't as thick on the other side yet and that's why it looks lighter. You need to break it up very well now and mix the colonized grains in with all the rest. Just hold the bag in your hands and knead it like clay or bread dough. When it's mixed well, return it to your shelf to finish colonizing. Try to avoid letting the grains contact the filter.
You really should have rinsed your grains prior to loading that bag. Notice all the grain dust stuck to the side? If that were a jar, it would be very hard to break up because all that grain dust makes the grains clump up and stick together.
After you mix the bag up, it will 'look' as though there is no mycelium in the bag. Don't worry though, in 48 hours, you'll see it growing again, and in a week it should be finished. RR

So literally mix it all up breaking apart the mycelium. The instructions said "gently aggitate", i never really got what it meant by that and how gentle i had to be. Its a scary thing to do when you know very little about it, now i get what it means though thanks alot !
The bag was sealed and sterile when i bought it, this is very much a starter thing for me. I'll use this to get some prints then i'll try and get good with the jars. Thanks to shroomery that shouldn't be too difficult .
Thanks again !! Happy growing.
