Fish tanks rule! I would love to have a 29 or 30 gallon right now, I'm in the market for one, but they aren't too avaiable here on the island... and the ones that are are freaking expensive! Be very thankful to get a good piece of equipment for free!
For an office, I'd go with a really pretty and low maintenance tank. Get a good light, and put lots of plants in there, and then stock it totally full of neon tetras, and maybe a school of five clown loaches to clean up the bottom, and of coure a pleco to control your algae. Keep live plants if you have the time and talent, but if not, good quality fake ones will do. Neons aren't too smart, but they're full of character and look like a huge lava light when their schools fill up a tank. If you're super cool, you could get two different schooling fish, like some neon tetras, and some rasboas or danios.
Personally, I've always wanted a tank full of neons. They are sooo pretty, and cheap and very low maintentance. Plus it'll look super cool in your office, and it will have a calming effect on you and your clients. Five shrooms to all fish keepers!

I have a 46 gallon bow fronted fully planted aquarium, equipped with pressurized co2 system, fertilizers 3x a week, and 170 watts )3.6 watts per gallon) over the tank..Here's a pic of the tank but it was just recently planted so needs some time to grow in...:
Co2 system under my tank(automatically injects the fish tank with 2 co2 bubbles per second)..:
Pic of my bedroom with 55 gallon saltwater setup (flash was used so the tank looks dull but its actually more bluish)..:

Nice setup.
I too put my vote on a spider. Some people get too freaked out about it though. A spider doesn't need a spider companion(food), you can feed em once a week but one could go months without eating. Very clean and exotic pets.

Living fuck! I would have NEVER expected anyone else at the Shroomery to be into planted tanks enough to have a CO2 setup. That's crazy as shit. Do you post on any aquatic plant websites?
I'm running a 125 gal planted tank with pressurized CO2, 4.5 wpg... the works. Here's pics of my tank about a month ago:
