Colonisation almost halted - Flip?
#5682313 - 05/28/06 01:30 AM (17 years, 8 months ago) |
|

So it's been about a week.5 since I've seen growth on my cakes (in comparison to very rapid growth almost two full weeks before)
Should I flip them? If so, do I do it gently? Or Firmly?
Thanks.

Rundown:
--Inoculated: 05/02 - amazon verm/brf multispore
--Temp Raised: 05/12 - (small signs of mycelium) Heater introduced to environment ~82F
--Rapid Growth: 05/22 - (8/10 jars showing growth, 3 half colonised, rest are at random points) Rapid Growth and rizomorphic
--Current status: 05/28 - Same results or relatively close to that of 05/22 - little to no progress.
Thank you.

I'm doing the Advanced*PF Tek by the by.
Introduced by the "Psilocybin Mushroom Handbook" I believe.
Same thing just instead of birthing them-I'll cover up the sides and pop the top off..since I'm flipping them now (resulting on their lids) is it ok if I fip them once more when fully colonised? To reset them and let them grow properly.
Thanks again.

I don't have any more resources and my funds are at an absolute 0.00 for spending.
So this is what I was left with.
So can I still flip them now and then again to open lids for pinning?

I do have some left over verm though .. just nothing to store it in.
That's why I reverted to the Advanced*PF Tek; which is why I need to know if I can flip once now and then again when they're fully colonized and leave them in there to pin.

Did you tape the holes? If so get that tape off ASAP crack loose the lids (1/2 turn) and set then upside down. If your initial moisture content was correct then you should start seeing renewed grow within two days. GL

You shouldn't need to. Just make sure you prop them on a coin or wad of foil to allow air through the lid's holes.

Definitely loosen lids a bit like I said which means 1/4 to 1/2 turn this helps tremendously with gas exchange. I don't just say things for the hell of it BTW I have learned a few tricks and teks over the years that actually do work, really! Also no need to prop the jars at all trust me.

I've loosened them about 1/4 turns on the lot.
They've also been flipped once and have a foil ball underneath each lid to keep them elevated a tad.
I'll check on them in a couple days now.
