first time attempt at pf-tek... contamination?

i am trying cultivation for the first time with the pf-tek and the b+ strain. i inoculated 12 jars about 1 week ago and have not seen any kind of mycelial growth in any of them. near the inoculation sites though, i have noticed what looks like a slightly yellow discolouration of the substrate. in some jars it is more widespread than in others. even in one jar which was accidentally not properly sterilized, no other contaminants are present. but no less, out of 12 jars, not one has anything in it that looks remotely like mycelium.
my first guess is that there is not enough moisture in the jars either as a result of too high heat in sterilization or just not enough water added to the substrate initially.
i have more spores in other strains - should i try starting over? any other advice is appreciated as well.

Well you would now better if you prepared the jars correctly.
But a week is not unheard of, so I would wait it out for now.

what temperture are they incubating at?Ive grown jars at room temp(low-mid 60s)that took 7-10 days to show signs of germination before. As far as the fact that you see yellow spots at the injection points...well that sounds like a contam but hard to say without seeing it.If you have 1 jar that you admit wasnt steralized properly is it possable they all suffered that fate?
And a good rule of thumb to avoid innoculating too soon is to just leave the jars right in the PC overnight. That way they are in a sterile enviroment while cooling and by the next morning they arre ready to go.

they're at a pretty even 80-82 degrees.
what i observed is not so much yellow spots as it is yellowing on the vermiculite. it's very faint and not opaque - doesn't seem to have a 'body' of its own. i thought that it might be bacteria.
as for the questionably sterilized jar - it just happened to be sterilized inconsistently with the rest of the jars. though tried to compensate, i can't be -sure- that was as thorough as the rest.

If you don't see germination of any kind in 2 weeks, I would advise you to start over. The yellowing does not sound good.

I will let you know from some of my mistake that I have made with my first grow. I had to add a little more water then what is put in the pf-tek recipe, do the thing of tilting the bowl to see if you just see a little puddle of water forming and be sure to mix vermiculit and water first then brf, next make sure that you innoc through the dry vermiculite. Put the needle in at an angle towards the side of the jar and see it go down the side of the jar, my first time I just squirted it on top of the dry vermiculit(lol). I hope this helps, just in case you made the same mistakes I did, and one more very immportant peice of advice that everyone pounded me with(lol) patiences is very very big with this type of growing.
