Sigur Ros - Takk

Balligomingo

Delerium

Conjure One

Cafe Del Mar

Theivery Corporation

This is the type of music I have been listening to in the last few months, a total change from what I used to listen to.

I was lucky enough to see The Beatles and the Stones on the Ed Sullivan show when i was a young boy
My first Album was the White album but i was into Creedance, Hendrix, Clapton, The Who and Neil Young during that time also
Creednce was my first concert and the Eagles were the back up band
When i was a freshman in high school i opted to see Lou Reed instead of seeing Floyd during the Meddle tour in `71
Ill allways regret missing Floyd

When I was a very young kid (9 or 10) I had my Dad's copy of Europe '72 by the Grateful Dead and listened to it every day. For some reason the song Jack Straw affected me tremendously, every time I heard it tears would come to my eyes from something precious I felt in the song. Then I lost the CD and forgot which song it was and for many years could only remember the feeling it gave me. Then I found it again and was happy as a clam. It's still one of my favorite songs and it really shaped my ideas of musical beauty.

A cautionary tale in a nutshell. Pay attention.

In high-school Kottonmouth Kings made me want to smoke pot. haha everytime I heard their music it just gave me a craving.

Umm ones that really affected my life, only one that I can remember is Sublime: "Had A Dat" I so deeply connect with this song, its brang tears to my eyes more then once

Raging and swirling, getting inside, I feel Like I'm going to Break!
Bright sun sinking low,
I never feel afraid to let emotions show.
Well I did.
Now take a look at me,
I had a close brush before your destiny.

Before I end, and you'll be victims of
my stories, tales, lies, and exaggerations.
I'm gonna
When your living life like a show
you gotta
take a bow to the people you know

I said lie, for me
lying under a process tree
oh engrossing in my brain
feeling like I'm going a little insane.

a little close inside
feels like I'm going INSANE!

Red lights
are
sinking low

I grab another beer cuz it's time to go...

I feel my head burst, I head out to your car
And I pray to Jesus Christ, but you won't get too far

I say uh, headlights and uh second gear
I run the road of like and skip the things you fear
I said that you might, that you might find a better way
to justify the evil things that you say

Ah, help me please, ah help me please
because I'm going upon my knees

I said, I said
going down to my knees
I pray to the Lord up above!

Help me,
I'm falling down
feeling now the cold, cold, cold, hard ground

haunting faces, and moving lines
slumber party for tonight

Pound it hard, your gonna pound it again
but please just do not pump up my friend
cuz it seems alright, gonna push him around
but I can't be taken for no clown.

Because,
when I am on the ground I CRY!

wowowowowowo.. Dub Style!

oh, cool and eazy
oh no
cool and easy
to the sweet reggae music
oh no
feels alright to sweet reggae music
feels alright
sweet reggae music....

Incubus - Drive

If you've never heard it, I suggest a download. If you have, you might have some idea how that song could affect someones life. I consider it my favorite song ever since I heard it, around a year after the CD came out.

Kottonmouth kings used to have a stand they rapped about and made a lot of valid points. It seems they've changed though. They went from "Tangerine Sky" and "Waking Dream" to "We're goin' to a party".

Voltaire - Goodnight Dragon Slayer...

It was the first song by Voltaire that got me hooked, and through a seemingly random chain of events it led me to the love of my life. But it never would have happened had I not felt some appreciation for the little lullaby. Since then Voltaire has remained one of my top three favorite bands/artists...

From Kid A by radiohead.. these three songs in succession put me on the the middle path. Even before i had the experience i had always liked these songs in a different way than others. From How to dissapear completely to treefingers to optimistic.

The whole album is beyond words

Beware the Jabberwock, my son!

Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun

311 has awed me many times. even if i never hear the song again through a stereo, Beyond the Gray Sky by 311 will always be playing in my head.

Light a candle for the dead
The wick is burning returning what we have
It's who we are
We'll reach you if you're beyond the furthest star

Don't give up the fight to stay alive and even if you have to
Find the reason of another's pain if they lose you
If not for your self then those around who care like I do
One day you'll see the clear blue

Beyond the Gray Sky
Light a candle...
The wick...
It's who we are...

One day youill see the clear blue
Beyond the Gray Sky

I can't believe you didnit call
What made you want to end it all
Wasn't there something I should have tried
To help you see beyond the gray sky
