well i found about 50 sub's today... NO need for reassurance from anyone, i am absolutely certain.... The smallest one is about 1 cm across... and the largest about 2.3 cm.... About how many of these little guys would make a descent dose? Sorry... I am just utterly unexperienced with this species/

You mean Panaeolus subbalteatus or Psilocybe subaeruginosa?

Subbs = Panaeolus subbalteatus because of the 2 b's.

Some people call both of them "subbs", some call them both "subs".
Besides, look at the first sentence. "well i found about 50 sub's today"
Hard to tell, shrug.

If you have a camera you should take some pics, i found hundreds of LBMs that look identical to P. subbalteatus, but may in fact be Psathyrella. I would like to compare the pics to the ones I have, and let you know how they compare... if they look the same as the ones i found, you should consider for yourself which genus they belong. I was CERTAIN. now i'm not so sure. do the stems snap fairly easily, or do they simply bend under pressure??

i was reffering to panaeolus subbalteatus.... ANd no need for pics. i am 110% sure........ THey were found in a gigantic hay/manure mound... they are subbalteatus.. that is a fact... They are small though... just not fully grown... spore print was black etc etc... bluling in base of stems and... the other panaeolus species are not found in mounds and have plenty of noticable differences... nice beefy twirling stems..(reddish brown..) perfect of course... color varitations are perfect.. everything is perfect.. i was just wondering about how many little ones would make a descent (about medium) dose.... thank you guys... and i dont mean to sound cocky.. i am just sure..

i was just doing a little more research on subbalteatus and found out that they are unusually slow growing..(expplains why after two days of lettimg them grow they are still basically pins)... my more experienced cousin confirmed the species.. Everything is alright... I am planning on going out in about 3 or four days and getting more... by then there should be plenty of adults... it has been raining abundantly here in the NW... If i am lucky and get plenty of adults i will be sure to post some picks.... i wont be eating them any time soon so there is nothing to worry about.

...does this leave anyone else scratching their head???
Anyway, if you're that sure that chances are good I suppose. And I don't think many (any) poisonous species frow in that environment that could be easily mistaken for subbs.
BTW, there are some mushrooms that look almost identical to subbs that experienced mycologists have mistaken in the past. But they're not poisonous. (very)

Good Luck with it mate ... but you should post pictures just because people like to see them, even if you are 110% sure! Share the mushroom love brother!
