cubes in the panhandle,,FLA, prime
    #5678727 - 05/26/06 10:25 PM (17 years, 8 months ago)

Sorry for the question cause I know it's been asked already.
Not directly asked, but stated, just by the time of year people make posts about finds.
But I have a question I would be grateful to have answered.
In the pan handle of Florida. In the middle of the thin northern strip, near Ponce De Leon, and Panama city, WHAT MONTH do the shrooms bust out
For example, on June 27th, here in GA, last year the cubes were busting out
However, I have no idea at the range of cubensis in the pan handle of Florida, and the month they hit PRIME
Thing is, I think I need to pack up as soon as possible, and plan my trip within weeks.

This is technically against the rules. But I have been wondering myself when we are going to start seeing cubey finds from Florida. They should be out and abundant by now me thinks.

FLA FUCKING SUCKS.. Omg this dry weather. I dont think us fl hunter will be finding any for a good month unless it poors down for 2-3 days stright. I went yester day And all i found was the white bell shaped one with the black grills.. found all of them on cow dung, only ones i could find.. Last year we were finding a good 20 cubes every time we went and that was like 3 times a week lol.(any fla hunters tell me what u think or if ur having any luck, might just need to go to a new feild) :mushroom2:

July 4th is about the prime picking season for Cubensis on the Gulf Coast. It is also the same time of year that most of the Shrooms are filled with bugs and maggots, and the fields are filled with misquitoes and spiders.

It has been a record dry season this year---we had hardly any rainfall in the spring but Im sure it will start making up for it.

The Texas Gulf Coast region has been too dry as well. Last time I hopped a fence to have a look all I received were mosquito bites and thorns.

Thanks for the straight up answer.
And my apologies for the half asses concoction of a question.
I'm a foremost expert on most hunting aspects, but as far as Florida goes, a Georgia hunter is in the dark.
Now I know. Now I plan, And Now I go.

I can say that 'cause ya don't know where to look. I'm in the panhandle and haven't stopped finding them despite of no rain.Last week I was outside of St. Pete (@ a friends) and we found a decent amount. When it's been dry go into the wooded parts. If your field doesn't have this get other fields. I only hit the open parts after hurricanes/continuos rain downfall or the winter/early spring time.

Here's you a turd.....
