Do you think the shape of the pans for the casings will make a change in flush size/strangth? I'v got my own ideas but i ws wondering if anyone has noticed a differince in any of ther casing using different shaped pans.

I use rectangular to save space.... but I have noticed people who have circular have better flushes some times....
I think it all depends on subs and pinning strategy

You know, there might be something to that.
Maybe not but, the square pans it seems dry out more at the corners, then the round ones. And that might even be true with the pinset at the borders.
So the rounds ones might shrink more even then the square. I dont know if it matters (outside of baking with them), or might be trivial.

I'v been pondering that thought for a while.... I was thinking that there arnt any squares in nature dung is round, mycelium spreads in like... round majigers untill 100% colinized. You dont find alot of ridged structures in nature. thx for the input. I just wanted to get my idea out there, ya know...............

Commercial mushroom growers don't use round trays they use rectangular trays the reason they do is their livelyhood depends on yield (no wasted space). As far as the myc's concerned round or square it's just happy to be given the chance to grow, now for you Feng Shui enthusiasts round is the way to go!

Thank the gods this thread didn't turn into an argument over the differences between round, circular, and cylindrical.
I agree. Too much wasted space with cylindrical containers, but they are kinda fun.
